Highly nonlinear Boolean functions occupy an important p o-sition in the design of secure block as well as stream ciphers. This paper proves two n e w l o wer bounds on the nonlinearity of Boolean functions. Based on the study of these new lower bounds, we introduce a class of highly nonlinear Boolean functions on odd dimensional spaces and show examples of such functions.

In this paper, the exponential B-spline functions are used for the numerical solution of the advection-diffusion equation. Two numerical examples related to pure advection in a finitely long channel and the distribution of an initial Gaussian pulse are employed to illustrate the accuracy and the efficiency of the method. Obtained results are compared with some early studies.

By applying hybrid functions of general block-pulse functions and the second Chebyshev polynomials, integrodifferential systems are converted into a system of algebraic equations. The approximate solutions of integrodifferential systems are derived. The numerical examples illustrate that the algorithms are valid.

this study purported to compare and contrast the use of self-mention and evidentials as two mtadiscourse features in opinion columns of persian and english newspapers. the theoretical basis of this study is the idea that metadiscourse features vary across cultural boundaries. for this purpose, 150 persian and 150 english opinion columns were collected based on three factors of topic, audience a...

A full molecular dynamics (MD) simulation approach to calculate multidimensional third-order infrared (IR) signals of molecular vibrational modes is proposed. Third-order IR spectroscopy involves three-time intervals between three excitation and one probe pulses. The nonequilibrium MD (NEMD) simulation allows us to calculate molecular dipoles from nonequilibrium MD trajectories for different pu...

‎Radial basis functions (RBFs) are a powerful tool for approximating the solution of high-dimensional problems‎. ‎They are often referred to as a meshfree method and can be spectrally accurate‎. ‎In this paper, we analyze a new stable method for evaluating Gaussian radial basis function interpolants based on the eigenfunction expansion‎. ‎We develop our approach in two-dimensional spaces for so...

A numerical method for solving nonlinear mixed Hammerstein integral equations is presented in this paper. The method is based upon hybrid of rationalized Haar functions approximations. The properties of hybrid functions which are the combinations of block-pulse functions and rationalized Haar functions are first presented. The Newton-Cotes nodes and Newton-Cotes integration method are then util...

A numerical method for finding the solution of nonlinear VolterraHammerstein integral equations is proposed. The properties of the hybrid functions which consists of block-pulse functions plus rationalized Haar functions are presented. The hybrid functions together with the operational matrices of integration and product are then utilized to reduce the solution of nonlinear Volterra-Hammerstein...

Pulse oximetry is dependent upon the presence of a pulsating vascular bed. Low pulsatile blood flow in the digits is caused by various factors. Regardless of the cause, if there is sufficient arterial pulse pressure, blocking the sympathetic nerve should cause a local increase in capillary flow and pulse volume. This study was performed to evaluate the effect of digital nerve block on pulse oxi...
