This work presents a CMOS integrated interface circuit (IIC) enabling highly efficient energy transfer from piezoelectric generators (PGs) to a storage element, e.g. a large capacitor. Due to the low power consumption of 4.7 μW assuming a supply voltage of 2.5 V, the IIC can be supplied totally by the storage capacitor. The storage capacitor can be passively charged via a bypassing circuit if i...
In this paper, a low-power up-conversion current-mode mixer, designed in the chartered 0.18-μm RFCMOS technology, is proposed to realize the transmitter front-end in the frequency band of 2.4 GHz. The proposed mixer can convert a 10 MHz intermediate frequency (IF) signal to a 2.4 GHz RF signal, with a local oscillator power of 2 dBm at 2.39 GHz. A comparison with conventional voltage-mode up-co...
Among renewable energy sources, solar power has the potential to become one of the main contributors to the future electricity supply. Low voltage photovoltaic systems require a high voltage gain converter for module’s grid connection through a DC-AC inverter. This paper proposes a converter that achieves a high step-up voltage conversion ratio, which contains a coupled inductor, without extrem...
Conventional dc-dc boost converters are unable to provide high step-up voltage gains due to the effect of power switches, rectifier diodes, and the equivalent series resistance of inductors and capacitors. In this paper a Linear Peak Current Mode Controller (LPCM) for a transformerless dc-dc converters is proposed to achieve high step-up voltage gain without an extremely high duty ratio. In the...
In this paper, a novel step-up converter is proposed, which has the particular features of single semiconductor switch, ultra-high conversion ratio, galvanic isolation, and easy control. Therefore, the proposed converter is suitable for the applications of fuel-cell power system. Coupled inductors and switched capacitors are incorporated in the converter to obtain an ultra-high voltage ratio th...
This paper describes a 1GHz differential to single-ended amplifier for instrumentation. The unity gain amplifier can directly drive a 50Ω load with a common-mode voltage centered at ground and can accept up to a 1 VP-P input signal. The measured noise floor is below 20nV/√Hz for most of the bandwidth and the common-mode rejection is 20dB at 1GHz.
