reliable estimates of runoff are required as a part of the information sets that help watershed managers make informed decisions on water resources planning and management. this study was carried out in shafaroud watershed located in the north of iran. in order to achieve the best runoff simulation in the study area, first rainfall data of four stations during 1998 to 2011 were collected and co...
Integrated management of watershed basins depends on deep knowledge of basic concepts such as the arrangement of lands and their uses. Location and distribution of agricultural land use help to balance water resources in the watershed basins. In this research with the help of satellite images of Landsat 5 and 8, and the method of maximum likelihood classification algorithm, land use types of wa...
This paper addresses the problem of segmentation of image sequences into moving objects. The segmen-tation (label) eld is modeled by applying a Markov Random Field on regions provided by a watershed algorithm. The algorithm iterates between a motion estimation and a segmentation step. Temporal consistency is introduced by tracking the segmentation in time.
The classical case of morphological segmentation is based on the watershed transform, constructed by flooding the gradient image, which is seen as a topographic surface, with constant height speed. Changing the flooding criteria, (e.g constant-speed height, area or volume) yields different segmentation results. In the field of PDEs and curve evolution the classic watershed transform can be mode...
We propose a segmentation-based method of object tracking using image warping and Kalman filtering. The object region is defined to include a group of patches, which are obtained by a watershed algorithm. In a robust M-estimator framework, we estimate dominant motion of the object region. A linear Kalman filter is employed to predict the estimated affine motion parameters based on a second orde...
This paper is devoted to the study of watershed algorithms behavior. Through the introduction of a concept of pass value, we show that most classical watershed algorithms do not allow the retrieval of some important topological features of the image (in particular, saddle points are not correctly computed). An important consequence of this result is that it is not possible to compute sound meas...
An integrative computational methodology is developed for the management of nonpoint source pollution from watersheds. The associated decision support system is based on an interface between evolutionary algorithms (EAs) and a comprehensive watershed simulation model, and is capable of identifying optimal or near-optimal land use patterns to satisfy objectives. Specifically, a genetic algorithm...
With the development of remote sensing techniques, parameters of individual trees for forest inventory can be extracted efficiently from high-resolution remote sensing imagery or LiDAR (light detection and ranging) data rather than using field surveys [1]-[4]. As a prerequisite step, individual tree crown (ITC) delineation from highresolution imagery or LiDAR data is one critical issue in curre...
