Since the specific binding of the antigen and immunoglobulin was discovered, multiple applications have been developed to asses different issues such as: (i) localization of cells and molecules in different cell compartments, (ii) characterization of functional subsets of cells, (iii) identification of different cell types, (iv) and specific blocking or enhancement of receptors or other protein...
Under conditions of food deprivation the lipid fraction of red seabream (Pagrus major) larvae shows patterns of conservation or loss in the profile of fatty acids and lipids. These changes were used for qualitative formulation of the dietary requirements of this species. Red seabream larvae were deprived of food for 5 d after hatching. Their lipid was extracted, weighed and analysed by gas-liqu...
− Yellowfin and bigeye tunas (Thunnus albacores and Thunnus obesus) were tagged and released between August 1995 and December 1997 at Cross Seamount and NOAA weather buoys about 200 Nmi south of Honolulu. The release and recapture data were stratified into five sites, and a bulk transfer model was used to estimate natural mortality, fishing mortality and transfer rates between the five sites. B...
Abstract Background Important changes in microbial composition related to sexual maturation have been already reported the gut of several vertebrates including mammals, amphibians and fish. Such fish are linked reproduction growth during developmental stages, diet transitions critical life events. We used amplicon (16S rRNA) high-throughput sequencing characterize skin gill bacterial microbiota...
In this study, the effects of exposure to pyrene, fluorene and a mixture of selected polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAH) upon branchial Na (+)/K (+)-ATPase was investigated in juvenile seabream Sparus aurata in a 96 h in vivo experiment. No significant effect was found, and thus it was concluded that branchial Na(+)/K (+)-ATPase is probably not affected by PAH.
in current study, protein hydrolysates were produced using microbial proteases of alcalase, protamex and flavourzyme from yellowfin tuna viscera. the results indicated that, protein hydrolysate from alcalase, had significantly higher protein content, nitrogen recovery and degree of hydrolysis than the others (p 0.05). the results of amino acids composition revealed that all hydrolysates were al...
Recruitment estimates for yellowfin tuna (Thunnus albacares) in the western and central Pacific Ocean (WCPO), derived from a stock assessment model, are highly variable seasonally, interannually, and over decadal periods. A generalized linear model (GLM) was developed that predicts the variation in yellowfin tuna recruitment in response to a range of oceanographic variables. The GLM model accou...
Introduction Length data from the Japanese distant-water and offshore longline fleets are available aggregated in spatial strata of 10 degrees of latitude by 20 degrees of longitude, and more recently 5 degrees by 10 degrees (Figure 1). In previous yellowfin assessments, quarterly length frequency distributions were derived for the principal longline fisheries weighted by the spatial distributi...
Amino acid composition of the whole body tissue of Axillary seabream (Pagellus acarne) was determined. Fish was catched from Dardanelles (April 2013) via fishing line. The most abundant amino acid was Glutamic Acid (11.0 g/100 g crude protein) and Valine was the most abundant essential amino acid (6.2 g/100 g crude protein). The total essential amino acid content was 32.3 g/100 g crude protein ...
