The 3C model was rst developed in [Trac 89] and reviewed at last year's workshop [SMTR 90]. This position paper responds to that review, and in doing so outlines a framework for thinking about 3C aspects of an architecture of components. Such components can be said to be normalized in that they capture one concern of the architecture in their content.

Some nonlinear dynamical techniques, including state-space reconstruction and correlation integral, are used to analyze the light curve of 3C 273. The result is compared with a chaotic model. The similarities between them suggest that there is a low-dimensional chaotic attractor in the light curve of 3C 273.

We describe new Chandra spectroscopy data of the cluster which harbors the prototypical “head tail” radio galaxy 3C 129 and the weaker radio galaxy 3C 129.1. Quantitation of D-beta-hydroxybutyrate dehydrogenase (BDH) in normal rat hepatocytes was compared with that in two rat hepatoma cell lines, H4-II-EC3 and RLT-3C. We have obtained the first constraints on extended Lyα emission at z ∼ 1 in a sample of five radio galaxies. We detect Lyα emission from four of the five galaxies. We have produced glycerol-bonded 3C-SiC nanocrystal (NC) films, which when excited by photons of different wavelengths, produce strong and tunable violet to blue-green (360-540 nm) emission as a result of the quantum confinement effects rendered by the 3C-SiC NCs.
