We report the operation of a Bloch oscillator. The active medium was a staticvoltage driven, doped GaAs/AlAs superlattice which was electromagnetically coupled to a resonator. The oscillator produced tuneable microwave radiation (frequency ~ 60 GHz; power ~ 0.5 mW; efficiency ~ 4 %). The gain (~ 10 cm) was due to the nonlinearity mediated by miniband electrons. We also present a theory of the o...

In this paper we examine fluctuation and frequency of the governing equation ofoscillator with odd and even nonlinearities without damping and we present a new efficientmodification of the He’s homotopy perturbation method for this equation. We applied standard andmodified homotopy perturbation method and compare them with the numerical solution (NS), also weapplied He’s Energy balance method (...

In this paper we introduce a simple, computationally inxepentsive, adaptive recursive structure for enhancing bandpass signals highly corrupted by broad-band noise. This adaptive algorithm, enhancing input signals, enables us to estimate the center frequency and the bandwidth of the input signal. In addition, an important feature of the proposed structure is that the conventional bias existing ...

A new PD (partial discharge) measuring system calibrator is described. The device, battery operated, may be used either grounded or in a floating position, and generates securely mains-synchronized impulses by capacitive coupling. It allows the determination of the scale factor k and resolution time Tr in PD measuring systems, and it fulfils the requirements of International Standard IEC 60270....

In high dynamic situations, the GPS carrier tracking loop requires a wide bandwidth to track a carrier signal because the Doppler frequency changes more rapidly with time. However, a wide bandwidth allows noises within the bandwidth of the tracking loop to pass through the loop filter. As these noises are used in the numerical controlled oscillator (NCO), the carrier tracking loop of a GPS rece...

We present a small-area second-order all-digital time-todigital converter (TDC) with two frequency shift oscillators (FSOs) comprising inverter chains and dynamic flipflops featuring low jitter. The proposed FSOs can maintain their phase states through continuous oscillation, unlike conventional gated ring oscillators (GROs) that are affected by transistor leakage. Our proposed FSOTDC is more r...

We consider separately a spin and an oscillator that are coupled to their environment. After a finite interval of random length, the state of the environment changes, and each change causes a random change in the resonance frequency of the spin or vibrational frequency of the oscillator. Mathematically, the evolution of these frequencies is described by a continuous-time random walk. Physically...

This study proposes using wireless low power thermal sensors for basal-body-temperature detection using frequency modulated telemetry devices. A long-term monitoring sensor requires low-power circuits including a sampling circuit and oscillator. Moreover, temperature compensated technologies are necessary because the modulated frequency might have additional frequency deviations caused by the v...

Absfract—This paper describes and analyzes the circuits which have been used successfully for TRAPATT oscillator studies. The results lead to a better understanding of the TRAPATT oscillator and yield a simple model of the oscillator which is useful for circuit design. The circuit characteristics of ms experimental TRAPATT oscillator are determined from measurements on the circuits and from equ...

In this paper, explicit amplitude and frequency expressions for a Cellular Neural Network with an Opposite-Sign Template (CNN-OST) under oscillation condition are derived and a novel inductorless oscillator circuit with negative feedbacks, based on this simple structure is designed and implemented. The system is capable of generating quasi-sine signals with tuneable amplitude and frequency whic...
