This research is a case study on the thoughts of Sheikh Yusuf al-Makasari. aims to analyze al-Makasari about application Islamic law and its through judicial institutions Dutch East Indies colonial period. uses qualitative methods which include library studies, namely reviewing literature related studies relevant Yusuf. The results this are that Yusuf's accommodationist attitude vis-a-vis Nethe...
Pseudomonas syringae pv. tomato strain DC3000, a pathogen of tomato and Arabidopsis, occurs as an epiphyte. It produces N-acyl homoserine lactones (AHLs) which apparently function as quorum-sensing signals. A Tn5 insertion mutant of DC3000, designated PsrA(-) (Psr is for Pseudomonas sigma regulator), overexpresses psyR (a LuxR-type regulator of psyI) and psyI (the gene for AHL synthase), and it...
Certain gram-negative pathogens are known to control virulence gene expression through cell-cell communication via small diffusible signal molecules termed autoinducers. This intercellular signal transduction mechanism termed quorum sensing depends on the interaction of an N-acylhomoserine lactone (AHL) auto-inducer molecule with a receptor protein belonging to the LuxR family of positive trans...
We demonstrate an approach to the surface-mediated release of a synthetic N-acylated L-homoserine lactone (AHL) modulator of bacterial quorum sensing (QS). AHL released gradually from thin films of poly(lactide-co-glycolide) (PLG) is shown to activate QS in the model symbiont Vibrio fischeri at levels that exceed those promoted by direct solution-based administration.
Introduction: Accessory Hepatic Lobe (AHL) is an uncommon developmental anomaly usually asymptomatic and reported as an incidental finding on cross-sectional imaging, laparotomy or autopsy. With increasing number of cases undergoing cross-sectional imaging the detection rate of AHL has increased. Aim: The aim of this study was to assess the incidence and describe the imaging features of AHL usi...
The evolution of biological signalling systems and apparently altruistic or cooperative traits in diverse organisms has required selection against the subversive tendencies of self-interested biological entities. The bacterial signalling and response system known as quorum sensing or Acylated Homoserine Lactone (AHL) mediated gene expression is thought to have evolved through kin selection. In ...
A series of acid hydrolysis lignin-g-poly-(acrylic acid) (AHL-g-PAA) composites was prepared by grafting acid hydrolysis lignin on the surface of the polyacrylic acid network. The results of structure analysis revealed that AHL-g-PAA had been grafted. The surface morphologies of the hydrogels were improved, as shown by scanning electron microscopy observation. The AHL-g-PAA hydrogel had high wa...
Production of virulence factors and secondary metabolites is regulated in the phytopathogen Erwinia carotovora by quorum sensing involving N-acylated homoserine lactone (AHL) signaling molecules. Non-hydrolyzable AHL analogues were synthesized and screened in vivo. The biological activity of each compound was correlated with its ability to bind Erwinia AHL receptor proteins (LuxR homologues) in...
The Malay world in the Southeast Asian region holds various Islamic -based scholarly and intellectual treasures, which have yet to be fully explored. Efforts uncover valuable old treasures must made continuously because of its interests, especially framework development advancement ummah. also saw birth influential Muslim thinkers who drove ummah towards excellence glory. One figures discussed ...
