The two-channel Anderson impurity model serves as a prototype for describing heavy-fermion materials with a possible mixed-valent regime with both quadrupolar and magnetic character. We report on the low-energy physics of the model, using a conformal field theory approach with exact Bethe Ansatz results as input.
The Marcus-Lushnikov process is a finite stochastic particle system in which each particle is entirely characterized by its mass. Each pair of particles with masses x and y merges into a single particle at a given rate K(x, y). We consider a strongly gelling kernel behaving as K(x, y) = xαy+ xyα for some α ∈ (0, 1]. In such a case, it is well-known that gelation occurs, that is, giant particles...
We report on recent results on the spectral statistics of the discrete Anderson model in the localized phase obtained in [6]. In particular, we describe the • locally uniform Poisson behavior of the rescaled eigenvalues, • independence of the Poisson processes obtained as such limits at distinct energies, • locally uniform Poisson behavior of the joint distributions of the rescaled energies and...
We demonstrate that the reduced Hartree-Fock equation (REHF) with a small Anderson type background charge distribution has an unique stationary solution by explicitly computing screening mass at positive temperature.
The study of carbonic acid equilibrium in muscle and other tissues, the calculation of intracellular pH, and the distribution of HCO, ions between the intraand extracellular phases of tissues require that the first dissociation constant, of carbonic acid, pIi’,, be known in such systems. The pK’, of carbonic acid in erythrocytes and plasma has been accurately established (l), but, as far as we ...
Weighted approximations to the tail of the distribution function and its empirical counterpart are derived which are suitable for applications in extreme value statistics. The approximation of the tail empirical distribution function is then used to develop an Anderson-Darling type test of the null hypothesis that the distribution function belongs to the domain of attraction of an extreme value...
Laudakia nuristanica is one of the least-studied agamid lizards distributed in Afghanistan and Pakistan. Only 17 specimens are currently known five museum collections from two neighbouring provi...
