To describe a new toxic inhalation syndrome in blast furnace workers.
METHODS
Fourteen workers developed acute respiratory symptoms shortly after exposure to "air blast" from blast furnace tuyeres. These included chest tightness, dyspnoea, rigors, and diaphoresis.
