Introduction H istone deacetylase inhibitors (HDIs), as  radiation sensitizing agents, are considered as a novel class of anti-cancer factors, which are studied in various tumor cell-lines. Valproic acid (VPA) is an HDI, which is effectively used in the treatment of epilepsy, migraines, and some particular types of depression. In this study, we evaluated the effects of VPA and ionizing radiatio...

In previous studies Sulf2 has been evidenced to play an important role in tumor progression through editing sulfate moieties on heparan sulfate proteoglycans (HSPGs) and modulating heparin binding growth factors. However, the role of Sulf2 in breast cancer progression is still poorly understood. In the present study, we hypothesized that Sulf2 promoted breast cancer progression. Two different b...

Objective(s):According to the prevalence of neoplastic diseases, there is a deep necessity for discovery of novel anticancer drugs in the field of medicinal chemistry. In the current study, a new series ofphenylthiazole derivatives(compounds 4a-4f) was synthesizedand theiranticancer activity was assessed in vitro. Materials and Methods:All synthesized derivatives were evaluated towards three h...

The role of antioxidants in prevention and treatment of cancers have been reported by several studies. In our investigation we studied the effects of ascorbic acid, ?-tocopherol, and sodium selenite on proliferation of two breast cancer cell lines: T47D (estrogen-receptor positive) and MDA-MB-231 (estrogen-receptor negative). We also used 17-?-estradiol as positive control for proliferation of ...

Basal-like breast cancers have several well-characterized distinguishing molecular features, but most of these are features of the cancer cells themselves. The unique stromal-epithelial interactions, and more generally, microenvironmental features of basal-like breast cancers have not been well characterized. To identify characteristic microenvironment features of basal-like breast cancer, we p...

This study aimed to synthesis of new compounds that containing nitrogen atom and test their anticancer activity. New alkaloids have been synthesized 1H, 13C NMR, IR LC-MS thoroughly characterized. Cytotoxicity was measured against the MCF-7 human breast cell lines. The results showed better significant cytotoxic activity RU8 followed by RU6 finally RU7 cancer lines MCF-7.

Detection of cytokeratin-19 (CK19) expression as an epithelial-specific marker in circulating tumor cells (CTCs) of breast cancer patients can be important for diagnostic purposes. Comparison of CK19 expression in breast cancer cell lines can indicate that expression of this marker is different in various breast cancer cell lines based on their category. Thirty-five breast cancer patients were ...
