Pyoderma gangrenosum is a rare occurrence in patients with haematological malignancy. This characteristic but nonspecific inflammatory process with skin destruction occurred in 4 patients with myelodysplasia, in one with acute leukaemic transformation of myelofibrosis, and in de novo acute myeloblastic leukaemia in another. Clinically, the cutaneous lesion in these patients differed from that a...
A patient who developed a bullous skin eruption associated with carbamazepine overdosage is described. The authors believe this previously unreported phenomenon to be of clinical importance. Carbamazepine should be considered in the differential diagnosis of drug-induced coma with associated bullous lesions.
A 19-month-old child presented with bullous impetigo around the perineal region, penis, and left foot. Streptococcus salivarius was the only isolate recovered from the lesions. The child was treated with parenteral penicillin, debridement of the bulli, and local application of silver sulphadiazine cream. This case of bullous impetigo illustrates another aspect of the pathogenicity of Strep. sal...
Bullous hemorrhagic dermatosis induced by enoxaparin is a rare, self-limiting, cutaneous adverse reaction causing no complications. In this report, we present a case where bullous hemorrhagic dermatosis developed at a location distant from the site of injection after using enoxaparin for 5 days for pulmonary venous thrombosis.
