great effect of three way catalytic convertor (twc) performance on oxygen sensor output voltage has made the sensor (located after catalyst) as the main signal in almost all today’s twc monitoring algorithms. in this paper output voltage of nonlinear oxygen sensor is estimated using a nonlinear autoregressive with exogenous inputs (narx) model. the estimation uses ecu calculated exhaust gas flo...

A magnetic nanoparticle catalyst was readily prepared from inexpensive starting materials which catalyzed the Hantzsch reaction. High catalytic activity and ease of recovery from the reaction mixture using an external magnet, and several reuse times without significant losses in performance are additional eco-friendly attributes of this catalytic system.

A diamide armed with a photochromic azobenzene unit and a nucleophilic pyridyl group varied its aggregation/dissociation state depending on the trans/cis geometry of the azobenzene. The catalytic activity of the pyridyl group was closely linked to the aggregation/dissociation state and hence photoirradiation could manipulate the catalytic performance.

Nanoparticles (NPs) tend to agglomerate consequently their catalytic activities decrease during propellant operation. Therefore, loading the nanoparticles onto the support is a general method to prevent the agglomeration and maintain the catalytic activities of the nanoparticles. Three dimensional (3D) graphene has high surface area and porous structur. Furthermore,, 3D-graphene is an efficient...

The combination of in situ X-ray absorption spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction and on-line catalytic data provided insight into the structure-performance relationship of a flame-made Pd/ZrO(2) catalyst during the total oxidation of methane: upon heating, a sudden reduction accompanied by sintering of the Pd-particles, leads to a significantly lower catalytic activity and a hysteresis during coolin...

N-doped TiO₂ nanotubes have been prepared as additives to improve the catalytic capability of Pt/graphene composites in methanol oxidation reactions. Electrochemical experiments show that the catalytic performance of Pt/graphene composites has been greatly improved by the introduction of N-doped TiO₂ nanotubes.

A novel γ-MnO2 catalyst obtained by selective removal and other traditional MnO2 catalysts (α-, β-, δ-MnO2) were studied for their catalytic performance in toluene combustion. The new γ-MnO2 catalyst showed the best catalytic activity owing to its three-dimensional macroporous and mesoporous morphology and the γ-MnO2-like structure.

Ligated Pd(II) complexes have been studied for the catalytic oxidation of terminal olefins to their corresponding methyl ketones. The method uses aqueous hydrogen peroxide as the terminal oxidant; a sustainable and readily accessible oxidant. The choice of ligand, counterion and solvent all have a significant effect on catalytic performance and we were able to develop systems which perform well...

In this study the catalytic dehydrogenation of ethylbenzene to styrene was investigated in a simulated tubular sodalite membrane reactor. The high quality microporous sodalite membrane was synthesized by direct hydrothermal method and characterized by single gas permeation measurements. The performance of the prepared membrane showed high potential for application in a dehydrogenation membrane ...

Background & objectives: Nitroanene compounds and toxic dyes are considered major pollutants in sewage of various industries. These synthetic organic compounds are highly toxic and one of the most resistant pollutants in the environment. Developing a simple and effective method to destroy non-biodegradable pollutants into non-hazardous products is one of the major challenges in environmental st...
