The complete blood count (CBC) is one of the most frequently requested tests in laboratory medicine, performed in a range of healthcare situations. The provision of an ideal assay material for external quality assessment is confounded by the fragility of the cellular components of blood, the lack of commutability of stabilised whole blood material and the lack of certified reference materials a...

Solar energy is one of the important infinite source that maintains life on earth and is of clean energy. This energy can be converted to different forms as per our requirements. In this paper digital implementation of Photo Voltaic (PV) based cascaded boost converter (CBC)for voltage source inverter (VSI) fed induction motor is presented. The proposed PV model is based on a behavioral cell mod...

In this paper, we shall discuss how to construct multidimensional biorthogonal wavelets by employing a coset by coset (CBC) algorithm. We shall construct biorthogonal wavelets on the hexagonal lattice by CBC algorithm. In particular, we shall propose a CBC algorithm to construct inter-polatory biorthogonal wavelets which are derived from pairs of fundamental reenable functions. More precisely, ...

Correctness-by-construction (CbC) is an algorithm derivation technique in which the algorithm is co-developed with its correctness proof. Starting with a specification (most often as a preand post-condition), ‘derivation steps’ are made towards a final algorithm. Critically, each step in the derivation is a correctness-preserving one, meaning that the composition of the derivation steps is the ...

A similarity measure based on the number of coincident bits in multichannel images is presented. The similarity criterion incorporated in the image registration algorithm uses a coincident bit counting (CBC) method to obtain the number of matching bits between the frames of interest. The CBC method not only performs favorably compared with traditional techniques, but also renders simpler implem...

Vaudenay [1] has presented an attack on the CBC mode of block ciphers, which uses padding according to the PKCS#5 standard. One of the countermeasures, which he has assumed, consisted of the encryption of the message M ́= M || padding || hash(M || padding) instead of the original M. This can increase the length of the message by several blocks compared with the present padding. Moreover, Wagner ...

Performing a complete blood count (CBC) is a common test performed in neonatal intensive care. Samples reported as "clotted" are not able to be analyzed and require redraw. A perceived "high" clotting rate elicits frustration among team members and has negative effects on patient flow and patient satisfaction. Process mapping and a root cause analysis determined that an educational intervention...

Clustering in data mining is a discovery process that groups a set of data so as to maximize the intra-cluster similarity and to minimize the intercluster similarity. Clustering becomes more challenging when data are categorical and the amount of available memory is less than the size of the data set. In this paper, we introduce CBC (Clustering Based on Compressed Data), an extension of the Bir...

We describe a series of new attacks on a CBC-MAC algorithm due to Knudsen and Preneel including two key recovery attacks and a forgery attack. Unlike previous attacks, these techniques will work when the MAC calculation involves prefixing the data to be MACed with a ‘length block’. These attack methods provide new (tighter) upper bounds on the level of security offered by the MacDES technique.
