This paper presents a hybrid neuro-fuzzy methodology to identify appropriate global logistics (GL) operational modes used for global supply chain management. The proposed methodological framework includes three main developmental phases: (1) establishment of a GL strategic hierarchy, (2) formulation of GL-mode identification rules, and (3) development of a GL-mode choice model. By integrating a...
Nowadays there is a large availability of discrete event simulation software that can be easily used in different domains: from industry to supply chain, from healthcare to business management, from training to complex systems design. Simulation engines of commercial discrete event simulation software use specific rules and logics for simulation time and events management. Difficulties and limi...
A supply chain can be defined as an integrated business process wherein a number of various business entities (i.e., suppliers, manufacturers, distributors, and retailers) work together. Supply chain configuration is concerned with determining supply, production and stock levels in raw materials, subassemblies at different levels of the given bills of material (BOM). End products and informatio...
In this work, we propose a hybrid simulation optimization approach that addresses the problem of supply chain management. We formulated the problem as a mathematical model which minimizes the summation of production cost, transportation cost, inventory holding and shortage costs, subject to capacity and inventory balance constraints and propose a hybrid approach combining mathematical programmi...
If a system uses assertions of the general form x causes y , (e.g. MYCIN rules) then loop situations in which X, causes X2, X2 causes X3, . . . . , X, causes X,, are, intuitively, best avoided. If an assertion has an attached confidence weight, as in x (0.8)-causes y , then one can choose to say that the confidence in a chain of such assertions is as strong as the weakest link in the chain. If ...
We develop an algorithm to construct approximate decision rules that are piecewise-linear and continuous for DSGE models with occasionally-binding constraint. The functional form of the allows us derive a conditionally optimal particle filter (COPF) evaluation likelihood function exploits structure solution. document accuracy approximation embed it into Markov chain Monte Carlo conduct Bayesian...
The extended interacting boson model with s-, p-, d-, f and g-bosons being included (spdfg IBM) are investigated. The algebraic structure including the generators, the Casimir operators of the groups at the SU(5) dynamical symmetry and the branching rules of the irreducible representation reductions along the group chain are obtained. The typical energy spectrum of the symmetry is given.
This paper presents an evolutionary music software system that generates complex rhythmic polyphony in performance. A population of rhythms is derived from analysis of source material, using a first order Markov chain derived from subdivision transitions. The population evolves in performance, and each generation is analysed to provide rules for subsequent generations.
In this paper, we establish characterizations of Asplund spaces in terms of conditions ensuring the metric inequality and intersection formulae. Then we establish chain rules for the limiting Fréchet subdifferentials. Necessary conditions for constrained optimization problems with non-Lipschitz data are derived.
