This work presents an application of the previously proposed Support Vector Machines Based Generalized Predictive Control (SVM-Based GPC) method [1] to the problem of controlling chaotic dynamics with small parameter perturbations. The Generalized Predictive Control (GPC) method, which is included in the class of Model Predictive Control, necessitates an accurate model of the plant that plays v...

We show by numerical calculations that a chaotic neuron model driven by a weak sinusoid has resonance. This resonance phenomenon has a peak at a drive frequency similar to that of noise-induced stochastic resonance (SR). This neuron model was proposed from biological studies and shows a chaotic response when a parameter is varied. SR is a noise induced effect in driven nonlinear dynamical syste...

The problem discussed in this paper is the effect of latency time on the OGY chaos control methodology in multi chaotic systems. The Smith predictor, rhythmic and memory strategies are embedded in the OGY chaos control method to encounter loop latency. A comparison study is provided and the advantages of the Smith predictor approach are clearly evident from the closed loop responses. The comple...

A simulated annealing (SA) based variable weighted forecast model is proposed to combine and weigh local chaotic model, artificial neural network (ANN), and partial least square support vector machine (PLS-SVM) to build a more accurate forecast model. The hybrid model was built and multistep ahead prediction ability was tested based on daily MSW generation data from Seattle, Washington, the Uni...

– We study a new statistics of wave functions in several chaotic and disordered systems: the random matrix model, band random matrix model, the Lipkin model, chaotic quantum billiard and the 1D tight-binding model. Both numerical and analytical results show that the distribution function of a generalized Riccati variable, defined as the ratio of components of eigenfunctions on basis states coup...

To understand the relationship between brain structure and behavior in the general movements of fetuses and infants from a complex systems perspective, we investigated how behaviors emerge from interactions between complex networks of nonlinear oscillators and musculoskeletal bodies. We prepared a snake-like robot and some network structures in a physical simulator. The various conditions impos...

A class of RC-OTA hysteretic-chaotic generators has been proposed from the electronics point of view. Hysteresis is captured by an electronic realization. To extend its applicability, hysteretic mathematical modeling is an important issue. Here, a new hysteretic model is proposed. With this model, we realized a well known hysteretic-chaotic attractor using Simnon.

We propose a discrete time dynamical system (a map) as a phenomenological model of excitable and spiking-bursting neurons. The model is a discontinuous two-dimensional map. We find conditions under which this map has an invariant region on the phase plane, containing a chaotic attractor. This attractor creates chaotic spiking-bursting oscillations of the model. We also show various regimes of o...

A transient chaos in a closed FRW cosmological model with a scalar field is studied. We describe two different chaotic regimes and show that the type of chaos in this model depends on the scalar field potential. We have found also that for sufficiently steep potentials or for potentials with large cosmological constant the chaotic behavior disappears.
