─ Breast cancer is one of the most common kinds of cancer, as well as the leading cause of decease among women. Early detection and diagnosis of breast cancer increases the chances for successful treatment and complete recovery for the patient. Mammography is currently the most sensitive method to detect early breast cancer; however, the magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is the most attractive a...

In medical image processing, retinal image enhancement is the challenging issue to reveal the unseen details of an retinal image, thus, in many applications image enhancement issued to solve the challenges such as, noise reduction, blurring, degradation, etc. To improve the visual grade of retinal images we have many alternative image enhancement techniques that are suitable for specific applic...
In this work the image denoising problem is examined. A common approach involves transform-domain coefficients manipulation, followed by the inverse transform. This approach is highlighted by recently-developed methods that model the inter-coefficient dependencies. However, these methods operate on the transform domain error rather than on the more relevant image domain one. In this work we pro...
A novel oblivious and highly robust watermarking scheme using Multiple Descriptions (MD) and Quantization Index Modulation (QIM) of the host image is presented in this paper. The watermark is embedded in the Discrete Contourlet Transform domain (CT). Discrete Countourlet Transform (CT) is able to capture the directional edges and contours superior to Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT). Watermark ...
Image denoising has become an essential exercise in medical imaging especially the Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). This paper proposes a medical image denoising algorithm using contourlet transform. Numerical results show that the proposed algorithm can obtained higher peak signal to noise ratio (PSNR) than wavelet based denoising algorithms using MR Images in the presence of AWGN.
Most existing image enhancement algorithms work on a single image. Their performance is limited to the capacity of the sensor by which the image is taken. In some cases they completely fail to provide us the necessary enhancements. This paper proposes a composite image approach for enhancing still images. The approach proposed combines the relevant features of the input images and produce a com...
