We present a computational approach for finding all integral solutions of the equation y2 = 1k + 2k + · · ·+xk for even values of k. By reducing this problem to that of finding integral solutions of a certain class of quartic equations closely related to the Pell equations, we are able to apply the powerful computational machinery related to quadratic number fields. Using our approach, we deter...

a numerical method for solving nonlinear fredholm-volterra integral equations of general type is presented. this method is based on replacement of unknown function by truncated series of well known chebyshev expansion of functions. the quadrature formulas which we use to calculate integral terms have been imated by fast fourier transform (fft). this is a grate advantage of this method which has...

In this paper, the two-dimensional triangular orthogonal functions (2D-TFs) are applied for solving a class of nonlinear two-dimensional Volterra integral equations. 2D-TFs method transforms these integral equations into a system of linear algebraic equations. The high accuracy of this method is verified through a numerical example and comparison of the results with the other numerical methods.

We analyze a master equation formulation of stochastic neurodynamics for a network of synaptically coupled homogeneous neuronal populations each consisting of N identical neurons. The state of the network is specified by the fraction of active or spiking neurons in each population, and transition rates are chosen so that in the thermodynamic or deterministic limit (N → ∞) we recover standard ac...

We introduce the concept of mixed (G,S)-monotone mappings and prove coupled coincidence point theorems for such mappings satisfying a nonlinear contraction involving altering distance functions. Presented theorems extend, improve and generalize the recent results of Harjani, López and Sadarangani [J. Harjani, B. López and K. Sadarangani, Fixed point theorems for mixed monotone operators and app...

This paper presents an efficient Euler method on Cartesian grids coupled with an integral Boundary-Layer method. The unsteady Euler equations are solved using cell-centered finite volume method by the implicit-explicit dual-time stepping scheme. The wall boundary conditions on the wing are implemented on the wing chord plane by first order approximation so that non-moving Cartesian grids can be...

in this paper, existence theorems for the fuzzy volterra-fredholm integral equations of mixed type (fvfiemt) involving fuzzy number valued mappings have been investigated. then, by using banach's contraction principle, sufficient conditions for the existence of a unique solution of fvfiemt are given. finally, illustrative examples are presented to validate the obtained results.

In a system where a free fluid flow is coupled to flow in a porous medium, different PDEs are solved simultaneously in two subdomains. We consider steady Stokes equations in the free region, coupled across a fixed interface to Darcy equations in the porous substrate. In this paper, the numerical solution is obtained using the boundary integral formulation with regularized Green’s function. High...
