With an increasing number of the WSN applications in 3D space such as in outer space, atmosphere or underwater, the 3D space signal detection and coverage problems become more and more important. However, the 2D assumption, such as the binary detection model, is still used in the research referred to the 3D circumstance to determine whether the event to be detected occurs or not, leading to maj...

Barrier coverage in a sensor network has the goal of ensuring that all paths through the surveillance domain joining points in some start region S to some target region T will intersect the coverage region associated with at least one sensor. In this paper, we revisit a notion of redundant barrier coverage known as k-barrier coverage. We describe two different notions of width, or impermeabilit...

This paper describes BarterRoam: a new novel mobile and wireless roaming settlement model and clearance methodology, based on the concept of sharing and bartering excess capacities for usage in Visiting Wireless Internet Service Provider (WISP) coverage areas with Home WISP. The methodology is not limited to WISPs; it is applicable to virtual WISPs and any Value-Added Services in the mobile and...

This paper presents a new interference model for microcellular networks which integrates radio propagation parameters and user terminal mobility. This model uses a parameter denoted the “interference to noise ratio” (INR) to obtain a simplified description of mobile link outage contours as a function of the location of the fixed and mobile radio ports. The INR is used to demonstrate that microc...

the center (periphery) of a graph is the set of vertices with minimum (maximum)eccentricity. in this paper, the structure of centers and peripheries of some classes ofcomposite graphs are determined. the relations between eccentricity, radius and diameterof such composite graphs are also investigated. as an application we determinethe center and periphery of some chemical graphs such as nanotor...

The cutaneous coverage of extensive lesions of the forearm, from its middle third to the wrist, is still a challenge in reconstructive surgery.1-4 The flexor and extensor tendons of the fingers and of the wrist, the median, ulnar and radial nerves, the radius and the ulna are vulnerable to lesions of greater energy, such as exposed fractures and extensive wounds. Coverage procedures through rot...

We present CO (1-0) observations in the central 4.5 kpc (1) of the Hα/Radio lobe galaxy NGC 3079 with the Nobeyama Millimeter Array. The molecular gas shows four components: a main disk, spiral arms, a nuclear disk, and a nuclear core. The main disk extends along the galaxy major axis. We detected its central 2 kpc radius, while its full extent is beyond our spatial coverage. Molecular gas is s...

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Intra-arterial therapies for ischemic stroke offer promise as a means to extend the time window for acute treatment. The purpose of this study was to identify the percentage of the US population with potential access to interventional neuroradiologic expertise within 6 hours of the onset of stroke symptoms. METHODS Hospital locations of interventional neuroradiologists ...

This article presents a controlled experiment that compares the behavior of the testing techniques Statement Coverage and All Uses. The design of this experiment is typical for a factor with two alternatives. A total of 14 subjects carry out tests on a single program. The results indicate that there is enough statistical evidence to state that the cost of executing All Uses is higher than that ...

This paper describes SimpleNLG for German, a surface realisation engine for German based on SimpleNLG (Gatt and Reiter, 2009). Several features of the syntax of German and their implementation within the current framework are discussed, with a special focus on word order phenomena. Grammatical coverage of the system is demonstrated by means of selected examples.
