The organochlorines, dichloro-diphenyl-trichloroethane and polychlorinated biphenyl (PCB) are pervasive environmental contaminants. Results from previous studies have been conflicting regarding the relationship between the internal dose of these organochlorine residues and breast cancer risk. To determine whether these compounds are present in breast cyst fluids and whether cyst fluid and plasm...

Toxoplasma gondii is an intracellular parasite that causes chronic infection by the develop‐ ment of bradyzoites housed in tissue cysts, preferably in the muscles and central nervous system. The composition and the function of the cyst wall are still not fully understood. Are T. gondii cysts able to incorporate nutrients through its wall? If so, how would these nutrients be traversed to cross t...

Hydatid cyst disease is endemic in our country. This disease is most commonly detected in the liver and lung, but it can be detected rarely in the soft tissue, muscles and subdermally. In this study, we mentioned a case with subcutaneous hydatid cyst disease without any primary lesion. In this case, a left lumbar subdermal cyst was totally excised and the germinative membrane of the cyst was de...

We report a case of spontaneous rupture of haemorrhagic third ventricular colloid cyst and its management. A 77-year-old ex-smoker presented with unsteady gait, incontinence and gradually worseni...

Stem cell progeny often undergo transit amplifying divisions before differentiation. In Drosophila, a spermatogonial precursor divides four times within an enclosure formed by two somatic-origin cyst cells, before differentiating into spermatocytes. Although germline and cyst cell-intrinsic factors are known to regulate these divisions, the mechanistic details are unclear. Here, we show that lo...
