Rice farming in coastal areas is often victim to flooding as a result of climate change. Low-cost adaptation strategies are required increase resilience and rice productivity these flood-prone areas. In this study, enriched Azolla extract (EAE) liquid biofertilizers, combined with selected stress-tolerant varieties, were tested farmers’ fields Pangandaran, West Java from June October 2020. OBJECTIVE To estimate the cost-effectiveness of treating patients with a venous leg ulcer (VLU) with an externally applied electroceutical (EAE) device, plus dressings and compression bandaging or continuing with their previous care plan, from the perspective of the National Health Service (NHS) in the UK. METHOD This was a prospective, single-arm, non-blinded, clinical and economic evaluatio...

multiple sclerosis (ms) is an inflammatory disease of the central nervous system of presumed autoimmune etiology. one of the best animal models of demyelinating diseases is experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (eae), which can be induced in a variety of animals by injection of a target antigen such as myelin basic protein (mbp). the immune responses against the target amino acids cause tis...

We developed a quick genetic approach to screen variants of the intimin gene (eae) by using a heteroduplex mobility assay (HMA) that targets the 5' conserved region of eae. The eae variants were categorized into 4 major HMA types and 10 minor subtypes.

multiple sclerosis (ms) is a progressive and autoimmune neurodegenerative disease of the central nervous system (cns). this disease is recognized through symptoms like inflammation, demyelination and the destruction of neurological actions. experimental allergic encephalomyelitis (eae) is a widely accepted animal model for ms. eae is created in animals by injecting the tissue of myelin basic pr...

Culture on cefixime, tellurite, and sorbitol-MacConkey agar after HCl treatment facilitated the growth of 410 (94%) of 436 eae-positive Shiga toxin-producing Escherichia coli (STEC) strains and 17 (16%) of 107 eae-negative STEC strains. This selectivity was closely related to acid resistance in E. coli and tellurite resistance in eae-positive STEC strains.

BACKGROUND Experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE) is the most commonly studied animal model of multiple sclerosis (MS), a chronic autoimmune demyelinating disorder of the central nervous system. Immunomodulatory and immunosuppressive therapies currently approved for the treatment of MS slow disease progression, but do not prevent it. A growing body of evidence suggests additional mecha...

Experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE) is a CD4(+) Th1 T cell-mediated disease of the CNS, used to study certain aspects of multiple sclerosis. CXCR3, the receptor for CXCL10, CXCL9, and CXCL11, is preferentially expressed on activated Th1 T cells and has been proposed to govern the migration of lymphocytes into the inflamed CNS during multiple sclerosis and EAE. Unexpectedly, CXCL10-d...

OBJECTIVES Oxidative stress plays an important role in the pathogenesis of multiple sclerosis (MS). Though reactive oxygen species (ROS) are produced by various mechanisms, xanthine oxidase (XO) is a major enzyme generating ROS in the context of inflammation. The objectives of this study were to investigate the involvement of XO in the pathogenesis of MS and to develop a potent new therapy for ...
