The resource space model (RSM) is a model for organizing versatile resources in normal forms and providing uniform resource management operations. In applications, we find three important factors that influence the effectiveness of organizing and operating resources: natural semantics of resources, resource providers’ beliefs, and resource users’ beliefs. The relationship between the three fact...
As the use of instructional video is becoming a key component of e-learning, there is an increasing need for a distributed system which supports collaborative video annotation and organization. In this chapter, the authors construct a distributed environment on the top of NaradaBrokering to support collaborative operations on video material when users are located in different places. The concep...
More than a decade ago, Thornton and colleagues added community to the inter-institutional system argued that logic shapes individual organizational behavior, determines organizing principles, influences community–organization relationships. In justifying this addition defining ideal type, they drew mostly upon literature on local communities organizations. However, increasing relevance of othe...
Based on a review of previous studies, important variables associated with the use of personal Internet Banking services are identified in this paper. Using data collected through a questionnaire, statistically significant associations among these variables are determined. The findings of the study confirm significant associations reported in previous studies and identify significant associatio...
The arrangement of verses in the Quranic surahs, the proximity of the surahs and the congruence between the surahs of the same group have always been one of the important issues in Quranic sciences, which has been dealt with under such titles as the order of the verses and the congruence of the surahs. The network associations of the Quranic surahs is a new term that speaks of the structural an...
We consider the problem of designing optimal linear codes (in terms of having the largest minimum distance) subject to a support constraint on the generator matrix. We show that the largest minimum distance can be achieved by a subcode of a Reed-Solomon code of small field size. As a by-product of this result, we settle the GM-MDS conjecture of Dau et. al. in the affirmative.
This article provides an outline of clustering, key stages in creating self-organizing maps for purposes instructions on how to use a free online R Shiny app that constructs data provided by users, and interpretations the graphics produced.
We describe the design and evaluation of a geometric interaction technique for bare-hand mid-air virtual pottery. We model the shaping of a pot as a gradual and progressive convergence of the potprofile to the shape of the user’s hand represented as a point-cloud (PCL). Our pottery-inspired application served as a platform for systematically revealing how users use their hands to express the in...
In identity-based encryption (IBE) systems, an efficient key delegation method to manage a large number of users and an efficient key revocation method to handle the dynamic credentials of users are needed. Revocable hierarchical IBE (RHIBE) can provide these two methods by organizing the identities of users as a hierarchy and broadcasting an update key for non-revoked users per each time perio...
Social annotation systems (SAS) allow users to annotate different online resources with keywords (tags). These systems help users in finding, organizing, and retrieving online resources to significantly provide collaborative semantic data to be potentially applied by recommender systems. Previous studies on SAS had been worked on tag recommendation. Recently, SAS-based resource recommendation h...
