Local and nonlocal models for the diffusion of photopolymers are applied to the dynamic formation of transmission gratings recorded in photopolymers and holographic polymer-dispersed liquid crystals (H-PDLCs). We retrieve the main parameters of H-PDLCs (refractive-index modulation and diffusion coefficient) by combining a solution of the one-dimensional diffusion equation and the rigorous coupl...

We suggest the use of the refractive-index changes associated with the intersubband transitions in quantum wells for phase matching in nonlinear materials. An improvement in the conversion efficiency of mid-IR second-harmonic generation by almost 2 orders of magnitude over non-phase-matched bulk GaAs is predicted. We also show that the linear phase contributions of intersubband transitions used...

An alternative uniplanar low-pa stubs is presented in this paper and its u extended up to five times of its cutoff frequenc structure primarily consists of short-circuited s line and connecting lines on coplanar waveguide of Chebyshev function low-pass frequency r element values involved in this filter topology efficient synthesis design approach rather try-t approach. Later on, the connecting ...

In this study, we introduce a zero-IF sub-harmonic mixer with high isolation in the 5GHz band using 0.18μm CMOS technology. Placing an LC-Tank between the class AB stage and the mixer core improves the isolation between the LO and RF ports. The measured isolation is obtained with a 48 dB between LO and RF ports; and a 9.5dB conversion gain is acquired while consuming 7mA at 2.5V supply voltage....

Based on Takayama-Lin-Liu-Maki model, analytical expressions for the third-harmonic generation, dc Kerr effect, dc-induced second-harmonic optical Kerr effect, optical Kerr effect or intensity-dependent index of refraction, and dc-electric-field-induced optical rectification are derived under the static current-current (J0J0) correlation for one-dimensional infinite chains. The results of hyper...

A Three-Level 12 pulse Three-Phase Active Front End ensures reduced low order harmonics influence and therefore minimizes volume and amount of network side filters. This paper presents the experimental study concerning the regenerative unity-power factor operation of a 3LAFE converter, highlighting the possible reduction of non-eliminated harmonics by the introduction of slight variations of mo...

We investigate topological insulating states in both two and three dimensions with the harmonic potential and strong spin-orbit couplings breaking the inversion symmetry. Landau-level-like quantization appear with the full twoand three-dimensional rotational symmetry and time-reversal symmetry. Inside each band, states are labeled by their angular momenta over which energy dispersions are stron...

This work deals with the Harmonic+Noise decomposition and, as targeted application, to extract transient background noise surrounded by a signal having a strong harmonic content (speech for instance). In that perspective, a method based on the reassigned spectrum and a High Resolution subspace tracker are compared, both on simulations and in a more realistic manner. The reassignment re-localize...

An interactive audio service provides audio editing functionality to users. In the service, users can control the desired audio objects to make their own audio sound using a spatial audio object coding (SAOC) scheme. However, vocal objects cannot be removed perfectly from the down-mix signal in Karaoke applications of the SAOC. Thus, in this paper, a modified SAOC scheme with harmonic extractio...

Laser light incident on targets at intensities such that the electron dynamics is ultrarelativistic gives rise to a harmonic power spectrum extending to high orders and characterized by a relatively slow decay with the harmonic number m that follows a power law dependence, m(-p). Relativistic similarity theory predicts a universal value for p=8/3 up to some cutoff m=m*. The results presented in...
