In this paper we introduce the version 2.5 of Normaliz , a program for the computation of Hilbert bases of rational cones and the normalizations of affine monoids. It may also be used for solving diophantine linear systems of inequalities, equations and congruences. We present some of the new features of the program, as well as some recent achievements.
We consider a regular indefinite Sturm-Liouville problem with two self-adjoint boundary conditions, one being affinely dependent on the eigen-parameter. We give sufficient conditions under which a basis of each root subspace for this Sturm-Liouville problem can be selected so that the union of all these bases constitutes a Riesz basis of a corresponding weighted Hilbert space.
The ways of using the Elliot–MacMahon algorithm to compute the Hilbert base of a system of linear Diophantine equations known so far are either not efficient or can fail to terminate. We present a version of an algorithm exploiting this range of ideas, which however is reasonably efficient as well as finite.
We develope a local theory for frames on finite dimensional Hilbert spaces. We show that for every frame (fi) m i=1 for an n-dimensional Hilbert space, and for every ǫ > 0, there is a subset I ⊂ {1, 2, . . . ,m} with |I| ≥ (1 − ǫ)n so that (fi)i∈I is a Riesz basis for its span with Riesz basis constant a function of ǫ, the frame bounds, and (‖fi‖) m i=1 , but independent of m and n. We also con...
Abstract. We give a detailed description of the resolution of the identity of a second order q-difference operator considered as an unbounded self-adjoint operator on two different Hilbert spaces. The q-difference operator and the two choices of Hilbert spaces naturally arise from harmonic analysis on the quantum group SUq(1, 1) and SUq(2). The spectral analysis associated to SUq(1, 1) leads to...
In this work, novel atom-type-based topological indices, named AT indices, were presented as descriptors to encode structural information of a molecule at the atomic level. The descriptors were successfully used for simultaneous quantitative structure-retention relationship (QSRR) modeling of saturated alcohols on different stationary phases (SE-30, OV-3, OV-7, OV-11, OV-17 and OV-25). At first...
In this paper, we give some sufficient conditions under which perturbations preserve Hilbert frames and near-Riesz bases. Similar results are also extended to frame sequences, Riesz sequences and Schauder frames. It is worth mentioning that some of our perturbation conditions are quite different from those used in the previous literature on this topic.

Every frame in Hilbert space contains a subsequence equivalent to an orthogonal basis. If a frame is n-dimensional then this subsequence has length (1 − ε)n. On the other hand, there is a frame which does not contain bases with brackets.
In the study of Hilbert spaces of analytic functions, it is noticed that complete interpolating sequences and Riesz bases of reproducing kernels are dual notions. In this work we make this duality explicit by identifying sequences of complex numbers with linear operators.
