Among the rock art in Arabia, a little-known Neolithic tradition of large, naturalistic camel depictions stands out. Their geographic distribution and stylistic traits suggest close links with Camel Site reliefs. Four newly documented panels appear to have been carved by same individual (or group), tracing repeated movements over hundreds kilometres.

Halftoning in its original form is the procedure used to print images with gray levels using only black ink. It does so by varying the size of ink dots, and thus, the ratio of paper area to inked area. Viewed from a distance, a certain tone is perceived. A similar effect is used when an artist is drawing a picture with pen and ink, where more lines are put in areas that should appear darker. Ye...

As our ability to store information increases, the mechanisms we employ to access that information become ever more important. In this paper, we present Archosum, a prototype of an organizational system that attempts to encapsulate the benefits of both hierarchical and keyword systems. By introducing abstract entities, Archosum provides a simple interface with which users can build and maintain...

ODUCTION ar sensors with dual-polarization capability etter understanding and characterization of hazards. Advanced knowledge-based hazard algorithms would require better knowledge of ttering characteristics of hydrometeors such as , hailstones, and snowflakes. Especially, characteristics becomes important for utilize phase-array dual-polarization radar Traditionally, theoretical approaches [1]...

Once segmentation of 3D surface data of a rock pile has been performed, the next task is to determine the visibility of the surface rocks. A region boundary-following algorithm that accommodates irregularly spaced 3D coordinate data is presented for determining this visibility. We examine 3D surface segmentations of laboratory rock piles and determine which regions in the segmentation correspon...
