Pains were taken during the recent research on the pancreatic duct system. Now, it has been advised that such a research should be carried out after understanding its historical antecedents. Therefore, this paper looks into an account dating back to 1876 and dealing with cancer affecting the pancreatic duct system. It is deemed to be worthy of documentation.

An average of 140 Fe 2 + ions bind to mammalian ferritin that has an average core content of 1876 Fe+ ions per molecule. The Fe2+ ions enter the protein interior and exchange electrons with the core Fe+ ions. A non-homogeneous model for the iron-eontaining core of ferritin is proposed.

A new species of the genus Euscorpius Thorell, 1876 is described based on specimens collected from Bursa Province, in Marmara Region of Turkey. It is characterized by a mesotrichous trichobothrial pattern (Pv= 8, et= 6, em=4, eb= 4), medium size and light coloration. Euscorpius (Euscorpius) rahsenae sp. n. is the second species of the subgenus Euscorpius recognizedin Turkey.

Two new species of the genus Uloma Dejean, 1821, Uloma fengyangensis sp. n. and Uloma acrodonta sp. n., are described and figured from Zhejiang Province of China. Uloma bonzica Marseul, 1876 is recorded from China for the first time. A key to the known Uloma species from Zhejiang of China and a list of Uloma species from China are provided.
