Given a graph G on n vertices with maximal degree d, form a random subgraph Gp by choosing each edge of G independently with probability p. Strengthening a classical result of Margulis we prove that if the edge connectivity k(G) satisfies k(G) À d/ log n, then the connectivity threshold in Gp is sharp. This result is asymptotically tight.

For an interger l > 1, the l-edge-connectivity λl(G) of G is defined to be the smallest number of edges whose removal leaves a graph with at least l components, if |V (G)| ≥ l; and λl(G) = |V (G)| if |V (G)| ≤ l. A graph G is (k, l)-edge-connected if the l-edge-connectivity of G is at least k. A sufficient and necessary condition for G to be minimally (k, k − 1)-edgeconnected is obtained in the...

1 . Introduction . In this paper we shall consider multigraphs and digraphs (= directed graphs) with bounded multiplicity : an integer r is fixed and we shall assume, that the considered multigraphs or digraphs have no loops, further, if u and v are two vertices of a multigraph M, they can be joined by more than one edge, however, they cannot be joined by more than r edges. In case of digraphs ...

In this dissertation, we study the following two topics, i.e., the union closed set conjecture and the maximum edges cut in connected digraphs. The union-closed-set-conjecture-topic goes as follows. A finite family of finite sets is union closed if it contains the union of any two sets in it. Let XF = ∪F∈FF . A union closed family of sets is separating if for any two distinct elements in F , th...

Given a digraph D, consider the model where each vertex is always operational, but the edges are independently operational with probability p. The strongly connected reliability of D, scRel(D, p), is the probability that the spanning subgraph of D consisting of the operational edges is strongly connected. One can view strongly connected reliability as the probability that any vertex can send in...

We describe algorithms for finding shortest paths and distances in a planar digraph which exploit the particular topology of the input graph. An important feature of our algorithms is that they can work in a dynamic environment, where the cost of any edge can be changed or the edge can be deleted. For outerplanar digraphs, for instance, the data structures can be updated after any such change i...

A path or cycle in an edge-coloured multigraph is called alternating if its successive edges differ in colour. We survey results of both theoretical and algorithmic character concerning alternating cycles and paths in edge-coloured multigraphs. We also show useful connections between the theory of paths and cycles in bipartite digraphs and the theory of alternating paths and cycles in edge-colo...

We classify the connected-homogeneous digraphs with more than one end. We further show that if their underlying undirected graph is not connected-homogeneous, they are highly-arc-transitive.
