The evolution of multi-agent systems theories and technologies has important relationships with the evolution of social networks. In fact, the study of social structures such as organizations and coalitions is one of the most important topics of the research on multi-agent systems; while such a study can take advantage of the works on social network analysis, multi-agent systems can be used bot...

Organizations are increasingly employing business process modelling techniques in an attempt to visualise their processes and highlight the improvements that need to be made. However, despite the plethora of modelling techniques available, the main focus has typically been the graphical depiction of a process. As of yet little consideration has been given into how a process can be presented in ...

We show that the spatial correlation function of a flux-limited sample of Xray selected clusters of galaxies will exhibit a correlation scale that is smaller than the correlation scale of a volume-limited, richness-limited sample of comparable apparent spatial density. The flux-limited sample contains clusters of different richnesses at different distances: poor groups are found nearby and rich...

In this paper we solve the problem of the existence of rational realizations of response maps. Sufficient and necessary conditions for a response map to be realizable by a rational system are presented. We provide also the characterization of the existence of rationally observable and canonical rational realizations for a given response map.

Successful dialogue is based on collaborative efforts of the interactants to ensure mutual understanding. This paper presents work towards making conversational agents ‘attentive speakers’ that continuously attend to the communicative feedback given by their interlocutors and adapt their ongoing and subsequent communicative behaviour to their needs. A comprehensive conceptual and architectural ...

Since the birth of multi–spectral imaging techniques, there has been a tendency to consider and process this new type of data as a set of parallel gray–scale images, instead of an ensemble of an n–D realization. Although, even now, some researchers make the same assumption, it is proved that using vector geometries leads to better results. In this paper, first a method is prop...

Energy Efficiency Management is the heart of a worldwide problem. The capability of a multi-agent system as a technology to manage the micro-grid operation has already been proved. This paper deals with the implementation of a decisional pattern applied to a multi-agent system which provides intelligence to a distributed local energy network considered at local consumer level. Development of mu...

Cu-Mo and Cu-Ti contact structures were fabricated on multi-crystalline silicon substrates to provide a low resistance ohmic contact. Deposition steps are done in an excellent vacuum chamber by means of electron beam evaporation and samples are then annealed for the realization of an efficient alloy layer. The effects of process parameters such as film thickness, annealing duration and temp...

Hardware realization of a Neural Network (NN), to a large extent depends on the efficient implementation of a single neuron. FPGA-based reconfigurable computing architectures are suitable for hardware implementation of neural networks. FPGA realization of ANNs with a large number of neurons is still a challenging task. This paper discusses the issues involved in implementation of a multi-input ...
