We report an in situ encapsulation method demonstrating over an order of magnitude size reduction for the preparation of urea–formaldehyde (UF) capsules filled with a healing agent, dicyclopentadiene (DCPD). Capsules with diameters as small as 220 nm are achieved using sonication techniques and an ultrahydrophobe to stabilize the DCPD droplets. The capsules possess a uniform UF shell wall (77 n...

The treatment of various hair disorders has become a central focus of good dermatologic patient care as it affects men and women all over the world. For many inflammatory-based scalp diseases, glucocorticoids are an essential part of treatment, even though they are known to cause systemic as well as local adverse effects when applied topically. Therefore, efficient targeting and avoidance of th...

Polymer nanocapsules have demonstrated significant value in materials science and biomedical technology, but require complicated time-consuming synthetic steps. We report here the facile synthesis of monodisperse polymer via a redox-mediated kinetic strategy from two simple molecules: dopamine benzene-1,4-dithiol (BDT). Specifically, BDT forms core templates modulates oxidation kinetics into po...

Lemon essential oils (LEOs) as a bioactive compound with antioxidative potential are used as safe additives in foods. However, this compound is sensitive to light, oxidation, and processing in order to solve this problem encapsulation could be a suitable technique to protect them from degradation. The aim of this study was to produce nano-encapsulated LEOs in Chitosan: Modified Starch (Hicap) t...

Common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.) is one of the most important and widely cultivated Legume in the world. The two-spotted spider mite (TTSM), is one of the most important agricultural pests. This research provided some evidence of the applicability of CuO nano particles and nano capsule for controlling TTSM. To evaluate the effect of copper nano-capsules on the populations of TSSM from red be...

Analogous to multiwalled carbon nanotubes, nitrogen-doped carbon nanotube cups (NCNCs) have been synthesized with defined volumetric parameters (diameter and segment lengths) by controlling the catalyst particle size and the concentration of nitrogen precursor utilized in the chemical vapor deposition (CVD) reaction, allowing for tailored interior cavity space of cross-linked NCNCs, i.e. nanoca...

Magnetic field-responsive iron oxide-loaded hollow mesoporous silica nanocapsules that exhibit high drug loading capacity were synthesized using polymer nanospheres as sacrificial templates. Due to their magnetic field induced heating and remotely triggered drug release capabilities, these hybrid nanomaterials provide an excellent platform for the combination of hyperthermia and chemotherapy.
