We provide a classification of developable cubic hypersurfaces in P4. Using the correspondence between forms degree 3 on P4 and Artinian Gorenstein K-algebras, given by Macaulay-Matlis duality, we describe locus GOR(1,5,5,1) corresponding to those algebras which satisfy Strong Lefschetz property.

Oxidation of silicon nanoclusters depending on the temperature and oxygen pressure is explored from first principles using the evolutionary algorithm, and structural and thermodynamic analysis. From our calculations of 90 SinOm clusters we found that under normal conditions oxidation does not stop at the stoichiometric SiO2 composition, as it does in bulk silicon, but goes further placing extra...

Raman spectroscopy is used to study low-wave-number (</=20 cm(-1)) acoustic vibrations of the M13 phage. A well-defined Raman line is observed at around 8.5 cm(-1). The experimental results are compared with theoretical calculations based on an elastic continuum model and appropriate Raman selection rules derived from a bond polarizability model. The observed Raman mode is shown to belong to on...

Further advances in molecular medicine and cell biology also require new electrochemical systems to detect disease biomarkers and therapeutic compounds. Microelectronic technology offers powerful circuits and systems to develop innovative and miniaturized biochips for sensing at the molecular level. However, microelectronic biochips proposed in the literature often do not show the right specifi...
