The aim of this paper is to present an existence theorem for the operator equation of Hammerstein type x + KF (x) = 0 with the discontinuous semimonotone operator F . Then the result is used to prove the existence of solution of the equations of Urysohn type. Some examples in the theory of nonlinear equations in Lp(Ω) are given for illustration.

We apply Mönch type fixed point theorems for acyclic multivalued maps to the solvability of inclusions of Hammerstein type in Banach spaces. Our approach makes possible to unify and improve the existence theories for nonlinear evolution problems and abstract integral inclusions of Volterra and Fredholm type.

In this paper, the two-dimensional triangular orthogonal functions (2D-TFs) are applied for solving a class of nonlinear two-dimensional Volterra integral equations. 2D-TFs method transforms these integral equations into a system of linear algebraic equations. The high accuracy of this method is verified through a numerical example and comparison of the results with the other numerical methods.
