This paper describes the architecture of first and second generation current conveyor (CCI and CCII respectively) and designing an amplifier using second generation current conveyor. The designed amplifier through CCII+ can be used in various analog computation circuits and is superior in performance than the classical opamp. It provides better gain with higher accuracy.
When we want to control a very fast system, like an operational amplifier, we have the problem that the controller must be faster than the system. The controller ́s work conditions are extreme and it is very difficult to find an optimal and implement solution. The QFT design methodology alows to look for real solutions to the problem. To demostrate this afirmation, a study has been done about th...
This paper presents the designing of a fully differential folded cascode operational transconductance amplifier (OTA) with common mode feedback circuit (CMFB). The designed OTA is operated in sub-threshold region to reduce the power consumption. The simulation is carried out in CADENCE environment using 150nm CMOS. The simulation result shows the DC gain of 82 dB with UGBW of 768 KHz, CMRR of 1...
Negative conductance voltage gain enhancement techniques which substantially increases the dc gain of an operational amplifier without degrading speed are discussed. Three fully differential CMOS op amps using the negative conductance gain enhancement technique are presented. Simulations show that for a 0.35um CMOS technology with a power supply of 3V, a dc gain of more than 94dB is achievable ...
Absfrucf In this paper a low-voltage two-stage O p Amp is presented. The O p Amp features rail-to-rail operation and has an @put stage with a constant transconductance (%) over the entire common-mode input range. The input stage consists of an nand a PMOS differential pair connected in parallel. The constant gm is accomplished by regulating the tail-currents with the aid of an MOS translinear (...
The OPA681 sets a new level of performance for broadband current feedback op amps. Operating on a very low 6mA supply current, the OPA681 offers a slew rate and output power normally associated with a much higher supply current. A new output stage architecture delivers a high output current with minimal voltage headroom and crossover distortion. This gives exceptional single-supply operation. U...
This chapter is devoted to the realization of some novel active circuits by using transconductance amplifiers. The transconductance amplifier can be realized by the widely used device Op-Amp and specially designed operational transconductance amplifier (OTA). By using single Op-Amp in one circuit itself we can get two filter responses. The first circuit realizes first order low pass – high pass...
A low-voltage low-dropout (LDO) regulator that converts an input of 1 V to an output of 0.85–0.5 V, with 90-nm CMOS technology is proposed. A simple symmetric operational transconductance amplifier is used as the error amplifier (EA), with a current splitting technique adopted to boost the gain. This also enhances the closed-loop bandwidth of the LDO regulator. In the rail-to-rail output stage ...
This work describes a 0.18μm CMOS implementation of an EEG acquisition system with programmable gain amplifier. Gain of the amplifier is digitally programmable from 35.09 dB to 62.55 dB by using 6 bits digital input. EEG input signals are of the range of few micro-voltage. Hence a high gain operational transconductance amplifier with gain of 62.83 dB is designed. Two 22:1 multiplexers with 5 se...
Field Programmable Mixed-Signal Arrays (FPAA) designs are reviewed and standard building blocks described with respect to circuit parameters and design limitations. The second-generation current conveyor is introduced as an analog building block with properties similar to those of an operational amplifier, and which has the potential for high frequency operation. A current conveyor can be imple...
