There are many problems in people using Knowledge Management System (KMS) to share knowledge. We can classify these problems into 3 types: 1) Free-riding situation, 2) Non-use situation, 3) Dormant situation. Organizations applied many strategies (e.g. rewards) to encourage people to share knowledge, but there has been no conclusive evidence of the role of them. This paper describes a research-...
Let M be a simply connected complex submanifold of C . We prove that M is irreducible, up a totally geodesic factor, if and only if the normal holonomy group acts irreducibly. This is an extrinsic analogue of the well-known De Rham decomposition theorem for a complex manifold. Our result is not valid in the real context, as it is shown by many counter-examples.
Since their inception, social networking sites (SNSs) have experienced exponential growth. While substantial research has been dedicated to users’ initial adoption of SNSs, the fall of MySpace reminds us that the long-term success of SNSs depends on users’ post adoption staying power. Inspired by this, this work-in-progress investigates users’ “stickiness” with a specific SNS. Based on Li et al...

Content contribution from individuals is critical to the viability of online communities. In this study we identify the factors that are associated with the quantity and the quality of content sharing in a photo sharing community, where the act of content creation is decoupled from the act of content sharing. We draw on theories of intrinsic and extrinsic motivation, and find that the prospect ...
Abstract This article develops the concept of “interorganizational pathologies” as an extension Michael N. Barnett and Martha Finnemore's work on bureaucratic pathologies. Adopting open system perspective, I argue that dysfunctional interactions may arise between international organizations (IOs) even when their cooperation is fairly institutionalized. To advance this line reasoning, examine In...
Organizations, partnerships, and alliances form the building blocks of global governance. Global health organizations thus have the potential to play a formative role in determining the extent to which people are able to realize their right to health. This article examines how major global health organizations, such as WHO, the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB and Malaria, UNAIDS, and GAVI approac...
For international organizations, recruiting the right people is of paramount importance. Coping in the complex international environment requires organizations to employ the people with the competences they need. HR and recruitment departments, therefore, develop profiles containing these desired competences. Such profiles usually contain a listing of skills and character traits. Interestingly,...
