Abstract Transparent sodium phosphate glass–ceramics system according to the composition (55- x ) P 2 O 5 .(30 + )ZnO.15Na where = 0, 2.5, 5, 7.5, and 10 was prepared with melt quenching technique. Different techniques such as XRD infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) were used investigate structure of studied glass samples nano composite. revealed formation crystalline phase. The phase Na Zn (P 7 ZnP ....
Aim: This review investigated the effect of applying an adhesive after surface treatment glass-ceramics on bonding, mechanical or clinical behavior. Methods: Studies comparing adhesive, behavior glass-ceramics, with without application treatment, were included. Searches performed in PubMed, Scopus, and Web Sciences databases (January 2022), resulting 15 included studies. Results: Regarding eval...
Bioactivity and ingrowth of ceramic implants is commonly enhanced by a suitable interconnected porous network. In this work, the laser machining of CaSiO₃‒Ca₃(PO₄)₂ biocompatible eutectic glass-ceramics and glasses was studied. For this purpose, 300 µm diameter craters were machined by using pulsed laser radiation at 532 nm with a pulsewidth in the nanosecond range. Machined samples were soaked...
Biomaterials can be endowed with biologically instructive properties by changing basic parameters such as elasticity and surface texture. However, translation from in vitro proof of concept to clinical application is largely missing. Porous calcium phosphate ceramics are used to treat small bone defects but in general do not induce stem cell differentiation, which is essential for regenerating ...
Don Stookey, the father of glass–ceramics, was a pioneer in inducing and understanding internal nucleation phenomena in glass. His early work on dense opal glasses and photosensitive precipitation of gold and silver in glass led to an amazing series of inventions: Fotalite®, a photosensitive opal, chemically machined Fotoform® and Fotoceram®, and TiO2-nucleated PyroceramTM products including mi...

Borate glass ceramics doped with Eu3+ were prepared by the melt crystallization method. The crystalline phase Al4B2O9 in glass-ceramics was determined X-ray diffraction.. optimal doping concentration of obtained emission spectrum, and color purity corresponding to calculated. Compared samples, it is proved that have high luminescence intensity.
We report on a comparative study of transparent Fe:MgAl2O4 (spinel) ceramics and nanophase Fe:MgAl2O4-based glass-ceramics. The 0.1 mol% was synthesized by hot pressing (at 1500 °C/50 MPa) powders obtained the sol-gel method using LiF as sintering aid. ceramic is single-phase material (cubic structure, sp. gr. Fd3‾m, = 8.083 Å) with mean grain size ~50 μm. exhibits broadband transparency 0.2–6....
