Phosphine (PH 3 ) is proposed to be a possible biomarker in planetary atmospheres and has been claimed have observed the atmosphere of Venus, sparking interest habitability Venus’s atmosphere. Observations another biomarker, methane (CH 4 ), reported several times Mars, hinting at possibility past or present biosphere. The Atmospheric Chemistry Suite on ExoMars Trace Gas Orbiter spectral range ...

Phosphine-free ruthenium benzylidene complexes containing imidazole ligands are reported. These catalysts effective for ring-closing metathesis (RCM) and cross-metathesis (CM) reactions at high temperatures, where the more widely used phosphine-containing N-heterocyclic carbene-based show side reactions. This discovery opens up a pathway to develop selective requiring harsh conditions.

We report a one-step synthesis of the phosphine, PPh(2)(i)C(3)F(7) from commercially available precursors. The stereoelectronic properties of the phosphine were probed by coordination to transition metals. Mo(CO)(5)PPh(2)(i)C(3)F(7) was synthesised and the synthesis and structure of trans-PtCl(2)(PPh(2)(i)C(3)F(7))(2) are described. PPh(2)(i)C(3)F(7) was found to be a bulky electron-withdrawing...

Hydride gases, such as phosphine and arsine, are important contaminants in process chemicals used in both the petrochemical and semiconductor industries. For example, the presence of phosphine, arsine, hydrogen sulfide and carbonyl sulfide in polymer grade ethylene or propylene can have a deleterious effect on catalysts used in the production of polypropylene plastics. Accurate data on the conc...

In this paper we present new results on doped c-Si:H thin films deposited by Hot-Wire Chemical Vapour Deposition (HWCVD) in the very low temperature range (125-275 oC). The doped layers were obtained by the addition of diborane or phosphine in the gas phase during deposition. The incorporation of boron and phosphorus in the films and their influence on the crystalline fraction are studied by S...

Aims. The JK = 10−00 rotational transition of phosphine (PH3) at 267 GHz has been tentatively identified with a TMB ∼ 40 mK spectral line observed with the IRAM 30-m telescope in the C-star envelope IRC +10216. Methods. A radiative transfer model was used to fit the observed line profile. Results. The derived PH3 abundance relative to H2 is 6 × 10−9, although it may have a large uncertainty due...

Hydrogenated amorphous and nanocrystalline silicon, deposited by catalytic chemical vapour deposition, have been doped during deposition by the addition of diborane and phosphine in the feed gas, with concentrations in the range of 1%. The crystalline fraction, dopant concentration and electrical properties of the films are studied. The nanocrystalline films exhibited a high doping efficiency, ...

Two new Zn(II) complexes have been prepared and evaluated for their capacity to activate and reduce CO2. The electrochemical properties of dichlorobis[diphenyl-(2-pyridyl)phosphine-κ(1)-N]zinc(II) [corrected]. and dichloro[diphenyl-(2-pyridyl)phosphine-κ(1)-N]zinc(II) 2 are compared using cyclic voltammetry. Electrochemical results indicate that 2 leads to a facilitated CO2 reduction to evolve ...

The title compound crystallized as an ethanol solvate, C(18)H(18)N(3)OP·C(2)H(6)O. It is the reduction product of tris-(3-nitro-phen-yl)phosphine oxide. In the crystal, there are inter-molecular N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds between neighbouring tris-(3-amino-phen-yl)phosphine oxide mol-ecules and O-H⋯O hydrogen bonds involving the ethanol solvent mol-ecule.
