This paper describes the methods we have employed to solve the author profiling task at PAN-2013. Our goal was to use simple features to identify the age group and the gender of the author of a given text. We introduce the features, detail how the classifiers were trained, and how the experiments were run.

Abstract The Turkish-Iranian Plateau and the Zagros highlands are among most prominent physiographic features in Middle East were formed as a result of continental collision between Arabian Eurasian plates. To better understand nature lithospheric mantle origin observed seismic anomalies this region, we investigated attenuation uppermost by detailed measurements quality factor Sn phase (Sn Q). ...

1. Invasive species are present worldwide, yet predicting which invasive species will become problematic in which ecosystems remains an important ecological challenge. Floodplains are at particular risk for invasion, especially when subjected to anthropogenic disturbance. 2. We examined how components of flood regime, habitat quality and habitat configuration influenced the presence and abundan...

A series of models of the lunar interior are derived from topographic, gravitational, librational, and seismic data. The librational parameters and low-degree gravity harmonics result primarily from surface height variations and only secondarily from lateral density variations. The moon departs from isostasy, even-for the low-degree harmonics, with a maximum superisostatic stress of 200 bars un...

From April 1997 through April 1998, 128 raccoons (Procyon lotor (Linnaeus)) collected from 7 sites representing 4 physiographic areas in South Carolina were examined for gastrointestinal helminth parasites. Four species of nematodes (Gnathostoma procyonis (Chandler), Physaloptera rara Hall and Wigdor, Arthrocephahis lotoris (Schwartz), and Molineus barhatus Chandler) and 2 species of acanthocep...
