The work is devoted to the computational algorithm for a problem of plant growth. The plant is represented as a system of connected intervals corresponding to branches. We compute the concentration distributions inside the branches. The originality of the problem is that the geometry of the plant is not a priori given. It evolves in time depending on the concentrations of plant hormones found a...

The cytokinin family of plant hormones is involved in diverse aspects of plant growth and development in vivo and in culture. Two groups have recently shown that a two-component histidine kinase functions as a cytokinin receptor specifically required for vascular development.

Plant hormones control most aspects of the plant life cycle by regulating genome expression. Expression of auxin-responsive genes involves interactions among auxin-responsive DNA sequence elements, transcription factors and trans-acting transcriptional repressors. Transcriptional output from these auxin signaling complexes is regulated by proteasome-mediated degradation that is triggered by int...

Duration of various stages of inflorescence differentiation and hormone levels in apical buds eventually decide the harvest time, flower uniformity and quality of ornamental plants. The progress in inflorescence differentiation process in the chrysanthemum cultivar ‘Jingyun’ can be divided into nine stages. Following short day induction, it took 4d to reach the growing point hypertrophy stage, ...

In response to biotic stress, crosstalk between plant hormonal signaling pathways prioritizes defense over other cellular functions. Some plant pathogens take advantage of this regulatory system by mimicking hormones that interfere with host immune responses to promote virulence. Here we discuss the various roles that crosstalk may play in response to pathogens with different infection strategies.
