Hydrogen bonds formed between C-H and various hydrogen bond acceptors play important roles in the structure of proteins and organic crystals, and the mechanisms of C-H bond cleavage reactions. Chloroform, a C-H hydrogen bond donor, can form weak hydrogen-bonded complexes with acetone and with dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO). When chloroform is dissolved in a mixed solvent consisting of acetone and DMS...
Sequential nucleophilic substitution of phosphorus trichloride with alcohols has been achieved. Over-reaction was suppressed by rapid mixing through micro-flow technology, and asymmetric phosphotriesters containing acid- and/or base-labile functional groups were synthesized in good to high yields. Moreover, a mechanistic study using DFT calculations suggested interesting reaction pathways. More...
Polymer supported dichlorophosphate (PEG-OPOCl(2)) is an efficient green catalyst for the electrophilic substitution reaction of indole with aromatic aldehydes, in neat condition, to afford an excellent yield of bis(indolyl) methanes with short reaction time, at room temperature. The synthesized compounds and their anti-cancer activity are evaluated.
Substituted pyrroles were prepared by a gold(I)-catalyzed acetylenic Schmidt reaction of homopropargyl azides. The reaction allows for regiospecific substitution at each position of the pyrrole ring under mild conditions. A mechanism in which azides serve as nucleophiles toward gold(I)-activated alkynes with subsequent gold(I)-aided expulsion of dinitrogen is proposed.
The uses of MCM-41 as adsorbent have been studied as an alternative substitution of activated carbon for theremoval dyes. This adsorbent was prepared at laboratory by authors. Adsorption of safranine on MCM-41was studied to examine adsorption thermodynamics. In this study was investigated the effect of proccesparameters like pH, initial dye concentration, temperature and adsorbent mass. MCM-41,...
Gold-catalysed, divergent synthesis of 2-sulfonylmethyl pyrroles and dihydropyridines from N-propargyl-N-vinyl sulfonamides has been achieved. Echavarren's gold(I) catalyst promoted the formation of pyrrole derivatives whereas the combination of PPh3AuCl and AgSbF6 afforded dihydropyridines. The aza-enyne precursors for the cycloisomerisation reaction were prepared by a base-mediated formal vin...
