Transient global amnesia (TGA) is characterized by a sudden onset and by a typical resolution within several hours. Several precipitating events have been proposed: physical exertion, emotional experiences, etc. The aim of this paper was to present two cases of TGA triggered by sexual intercourse and to suggest a possible mechanism for the development of TGA. In both patients, clinical examinat...

BACKGROUND Existing in Permanent-wave solutions (PWS), thioglycolic acid (TGA) is widely used in hairdressing industry for its contribution to hair styling. However, the toxicity of TGA, especially its reproductive toxicity, gradually calls the attention of more and more researchers. METHOD In this work, xenopus oocytes were pretreated with different concentration of TGA, and then activated b...

OBJECTIVE To describe 3 patients with a history of transient global amnesia (TGA) who developed primary progressive aphasia (PPA). DESIGN Case series. SETTING Tertiary care center. PATIENTS The study included 3 patients who presented to the neurology clinic with language complaints. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURE Presence of recurrent TGA and PPA. RESULTS Three patients with a history of TGA we...

We present the case of an elderly male who was diagnosed with transient global amnesia (TGA), only to be diagnosed with B-cell lymphoma with central nervous system involvement a few weeks later. This is the first ever case reported in literature with lymphoma presenting as TGA. Literature review and pertinent points regarding high-yield imaging protocol for presumed TGA patients are discussed.

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Whether transient global amnesia (TGA) represents an arterial insult that heralds ischemic stroke remains unclear. Therefore, we examined stroke risk after TGA in a population-based cohort. METHODS After performing chart review at our institution to validate the International Classification of Diseases, 9th Edition, Clinical Modification diagnosis code for TGA, we used ...

LASC catalyst synthesis process was carried out using iron metal (Fe) and its characterization properties were tested. There are five stages out, namely, the manufacture of Fe(DS)3 catalyst, lactic acid dehydration, polycondensation into l-lactic oligomers (OLLA), depolymerization l-lactide, ROP to convert l-lactide Polymers. (PLLA). The analysis used is as follows, Karl-Fisher; Spectroscopy Fo...

INTRODUCTION Functional assessment of the systemic right ventricle is often problematic in patients with Dtransposition of the great arteries (D-TGA) due to altered ventricular geometry. The clinical applicability of myocardial deformation imaging by two-dimensional strain (2DS) echocardiography in this setting is still under investigation. METHODS We evaluated 27 patients with D-TGA (age 30 ...

The transient global amnesia (TGA) is a rare amnesic syndrome that is characterized by an acute onset episode of an anterograde and retrograde amnesia. Its origin is still debated, but there is evidence for psychological factors involved in TGA. In neuroimaging, selective lesions in the CA1 field of the hippocampus can be detected, a region that is particularly involved in the processing of mem...

Transient global amnesia (TGA) is a disorder characterized by a sudden attack of severe anterograde memory disturbance that is frequently preceded by emotional or physical stress and resolves within 24 h. By using MRI following the acute episode in TGA patients, small lesions in the hippocampus have been observed. Hence, it has been hypothesized that the disorder is caused by a stress-related t...

BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Transient global amnesia (TGA) is the inability to retain new information and to recall past events during a period of minutes or hours. Its etiology is unclear, and flow disturbances in the mesial temporal lobes secondary to venous congestion have been proposed as a potential cause. Ultrasonographic evaluation of the internal jugular vein (IJV) has demonstrated valvular ...
