An inventory model for deteriorating items with stock and price dependent demand is developed. Holding cost is considered as function of time. Shortages are not allowed. Numerical examples are provided to illustrate the model and sensitivity analysis is also carried out for parameters.
An inventory model for two warehouses with different deterioration rates is developed. Demand is considered as linear function of time. Holding cost is time dependent. Shortages are allowed and completely backlogged. To support the model numerical case is given. Affectability investigation is likewise done for parameters.
Consider a set N of n(> 1) stores with single-item and single-period nondeterministic demands like in a classic newsvendor setting with holding and penalty costs only. Assume a risk-pooling single-warehouse centralized inventory ordering option. Allocation of costs in the centralized inventory ordering corresponds to modelling it as a cooperative cost game whose players are the stores. It has b...
This paper studies a periodic-review, serial inventory system in which echelon r nQ T policies are implemented. Under such a policy, each stage reviews its inventory in every T period and orders according to an echelon r nQ policy. Two types of fixed costs are considered: one is associated with each order batch Q, and the other is incurred for each inventory review. The objective is to find the...
The FY08 NGGDPP project is separated into five tasks, which are summarized in Table 1. The inventory of SCGS Core repository was completed with 1,489 cores. Metadata records of 239 cores were submitted to NDC. The discrepancy is related to finding location information for the cores. A methodology for digitizing geophysical logs into LAS files was developed, and 88 logs were digitized. Metadata ...
We study a single-period inventory control problem with two independent suppliers. With the first supplier, the buyer incurs a high variable cost but negligible fixed cost; with the second supplier, the buyer incurs a lower variable cost but a positive fixed cost. At the same time, the ordering quantity is limited. We develop the optimal inventory control policy when the holding and shortage co...
: In real life situations, especially for new products, the probability is not known due to lack of historical data and adequate information. Then these parameters and variables are treated as fuzzy parameters. Fuzzy set theory is now applied to problems in engineering, business, medical and related health sciences and natural sciences. Over the years there have been successful applications and...
This paper addresses the optimization of the continuous-flow model of a single-stage single-product manufacturing system with constant demand and transportation delay from the machine to the inventory. The machine is subject to either time-dependent or operation-dependent failures. The production is controlled by a hedging point policy. The goal is to determine the optimal hedging point, which ...
The Pontryagin minimum principle is applied in this paper to find the optimal controllers of the Holt, Modigliani, Muth and Simon(HMMS) reverse logistics model of a production inventory system with deteriorating items. The total cost of the system consists of the sum of holding costs of inventory levels in two different stores, the manufacturing and remanufacturing costs, and the disposal cost....
We study the integrated inventory distribution problem which is concerned with multiperiod inventory holding, backlogging, and vehicle routing decisions for a set of customers who receive units of a single item from a depot with infinite supply. We consider an environment in which the demand at each customer is deterministic and relatively small compared to the vehicle capacity, and the custome...
