New single soliton solutions to the affine Toda field theories are constructed, exhibiting previously unobserved topological charges. This goes some of the way in filling the weights of the fundamental representations, but nevertheless holes in the representations remain. We use the group doublecross product form of the inverse scattering method, and restrict ourselves to the rank one solutions.

We describe a fundamental additive functor Efund on the orbit category of a group. We prove that any isomorphism conjecture valid for Efund also holds for all additive functors, like K-theory, (topological) Hochschild or cyclic homology, etc. Finally, we reduce this universal isomorphism conjecture to K-theoretic ones, at the price of introducing some coefficients.

We present a new framework for formalizing mathematics in untyped set theory using auto2. Using this framework, we formalize in Isabelle/FOL the entire chain of development from the axioms of set theory to the definition of the fundamental group for an arbitrary topological space. The auto2 prover is used as the sole automation tool, and enables succinct proof scripts throughout the project.

This short course on Algebraic Topology shall give an introduction to some essential concepts of this eld of mathematics: the fundamental group and homology theories. As an example we will show how those results are used to prove that the Euclidean spaces Rn and Rm are not homeomorphic for n 6= m, which is not possible to prove in a purely topological way.

We prove that the fundamental group of the space of the real points of M0,n(C) is nonabelian (Theorem 14). The technique has a topological nature. Also, we prove that these spaces are non-orientable manifolds (Theorem 16). To our knowledge, the results are new.In a forthcoming manuscript, we investigate the associated combinatorial structures. Many of them were already studied in Computational ...

let $a$ be an abelian topological group and $b$ a trivial topological $a$-module. in this paper we define the second bilinear cohomology with a trivial coefficient. we show that every abelian group can be embedded in a central extension of abelian groups with bilinear cocycle. also we show that in the category of locally compact abelian groups a central extension with a continuous section can b...

We address the existence of vortex solitons supported by azimuthally modulated lattices and reveal how the global lattice discrete symmetry has fundamental implications on the possible topological charges of solitons. We set a general "charge rule" using group-theory techniques, which holds for all lattices belonging to a given symmetry group. Focusing on the case of Bessel lattices allows us t...
