We study domain wall dynamics in Permalloy nanowires excited by alternating spin-polarized current applied perpendicular to the nanowire. Spin torque ferromagnetic resonance measurements reveal that domain wall oscillations at a pinning site in the nanowire can be excited with velocities as high as 800 m/s at current densities below 10{7} A/cm{2}.
A simple one-step route for preparing α-MnO(2) nanotubes is reported. The α-MnO(2) nanotubes exhibit a high surface area of 226 m(2) g(-1) and reversible capacity of 512 mA h g(-1) at a high current density of 800 mA g(-1) after 300 cycles, as well as cycling stability when measured as an anode in lithium batteries.
With increased power output, the mean ( SD ) rate of vaporization of tissue increased, from 9.80 (3.03) g/10 min at 70 W to 16.41 (5.2) g/ 10 min at 120 W using the 550 μ m fibre. Gold nanoparticles encapsulated in porous carbon spheres with high surface areas (~800 m(2) g(-1)) have been synthesized by ultrasonic spray pyrolysis (USP). The porous carbon-encapsulated gold nanoparticles exhibit excellent catalytic activity toward the reductions of both hydrophilic and hydrophobic nitroaromatics.
The CHORUS experiment is searching for ν µ → ν τ oscillations using an 800 kg emulsion target and an electronic detector. Two of four years of running have been completed. The experiment will probe small mixing angles for ∆m 2 > 10 eV 2 , at least one order of magnitude better than previous limits.
