A new family of bivariate means is defined and investigated. Members of that family are generated by the Schwab-Borchardt mean. Comparison results involving new means and the second Neuman mean are established. In particular, two means introduced and studied by J. Sándor and Z. Yang belong to a new class of means.

In this paper, we present the sharp upper and lower bounds for the Neuman means SAC and SCA in terms of the the arithmetic mean A and contraharmonic mean C . The given results are the improvements of some known results. Mathematics subject classification (2010): 26E60.

A list of species of the water mitegenus Lebertia Neuman, 1880 known from Turkey is provided, based on bibliographical data and results from recent field work, mainly in the Southwestern part of the country. We describe one new species, Lebertia martinisp. n. and report new 28 locality records from 6 provinces for the three previously known species.

Biological sequence comparison is a time consuming task on a Von Neuman computer. The addition of dedicated hardware for parallelizing the comparison algorithms results in a reduction of several orders of magnitude in the execution time. This paper presents and compares different dedicated approaches, based on the parallelization of the algorithms on linear arrays of processors.
