SDO/AIA images the full solar disk in several EUV bands that are each sensitive to coronal plasma emissions of one or more specific temperatures. We observe when isolated active regions (ARs) on disk, full-disk some channels show outskirts AR as a dark moat surrounding AR. Here we present seven examples, selected from time periods there was only single disk. Visually, be most prominent AIA 171 ...

MAXI J1820+070 is a low-mass black hole X-ray binary system with high luminosity in both optical and bands during the outburst periods. We present extensive photometry X-ray, ultraviolet, bands, as well densely-cadenced spectra, covering phase from beginning of to $\sim$550 days. During rebrightening process, emission preceded by 20.80 $\pm$ 2.85 The spectra are characterized blue continua feat...

The major facilitator superfamily represents the largest group of secondary membrane transporters in the cell. Here we report the 3.3 angstrom resolution structure of a member of this superfamily, GlpT, which transports glycerol-3-phosphate into the cytoplasm and inorganic phosphate into the periplasm. The amino- and carboxyl-terminal halves of the protein exhibit a pseudo two-fold symmetry. Cl...

We have measured homogeneous nucleation rates of water at 200-240 K in the carrier gas helium, in the range of 10(13) - 10(17) m(-3) s(-1) using an expansion wave tube. The rates agree well with the results of Wolk and Strey [J. Phys. Chem. B 105, 11683 (2001)] in the range of overlap (220-240 K), and are summarized by the empirical fit J = S exp[4.6 + 0.244T-(906.8 - 2.914T)(ln S)(2)], with J ...

The knowledge of the microscopic structure of water at interfaces is essential for the understanding of interfacial phenomena in numerous natural and technological environments. To study deeply buried liquid water-solid interfaces, high-energy x-ray reflectivity measurements have been performed. Silicon wafers, functionalized by a self-assembled monolayer of octadecyl-trichlorosilane, provide s...

Results of investigation testify that placing of volume distributed electric charge of ion in dielectric liquid is accompanied by formation of the supramolecular particles, which we called “clusters”, linear sizes of which is significantly more than first and second radiuses of solvation (~ 1 Angstrom) and reach size ~ 0.1 μm. At such sizes inertial properties of clusters and their natural freq...

In this paper we optimize the experimental parameters to operate a Free Electron Laser with a laser wiggler in the Angstrom region. We show that the quantum regime of the Self Amplified Spontaneous Emission (Quantum SASE) may be reached with realistic parameters. The classical SASE regime is also discussed and compared with the quantum regime. PACS: 41.60.Cr; 42.50.Fx * e-mai address: rodolfob@...
