We prove a Wiener-Tauberian theorem for the L1 spherical functions on a semisimple Lie group of arbitrary real rank. We also establish a Schwartz type theorem for complex groups. As a corollary we obtain a Wiener-Tauberian type result for compactly supported distributions.
In this paper, a simple and efficient numerical procedure is presented to compute the charge distribution and capacitance of conducting bodies in the presence of dielectric structures of arbitrary shape and finite size. The method presented is robust and provides accurate results for both low as well as high dielectric-constant materials as supported by numerical examples.
In this paper, we consider spectral properties of Riesz product measures supported on homogeneous Cantor sets and we show the existence of spectral measures with arbitrary Hausdorff dimensions, including non-atomic zero-dimensional spectral measures and one-dimensional singular spectral measures.
We prove the existence of a Čech cohomology theory in arbitrary o-minimal structures with definable Skolem functions satisfying the Eilenberg-Steenrod axioms. ∗With partial support from the FCT (Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia), program POCTI (Portugal/FEDER-EU). †Supported by a postdoctoral fellowship from CMAF, Universidade de Lisboa. a Supported in part by \Ministrstvo za znanost in tehnologijo Slovenije", proj.no. Abstract The problem of lifting automorphisms of a (fairly arbitrary) topological space to automorphisms of a covering space is studied by means of voltage groups. To this end we introduce some required background results regarding group actions and covering spaces.
We consider the Navier–Stokes system in a bounded domain with a smooth boundary. Given a time-dependent solution and an arbitrary open subset of the boundary, we prove the existence of a boundary control, supported in the given subset, that drives the system to the given solution in finite time.
We present a neural network model that shows how the prefrontal cortex, interacting with the basal ganglia, can maintain a sequence of phonological information in activation-based working memory (i.e., the phonological loop). The primary function of this phonological loop may be to transiently encode arbitrary bindings of information necessary for tasks the combinatorial expressive power of lan...
Considering the Blum, Shub, and Smale computational model for real numbers, extended by Poizat to general structures, classical complexity can be considered as the restriction to finite structures of a more general notion of computability and complexity working over arbitrary structures. In a previous paper, we showed that the machine-independent characterization of Bellantoni and Cook of seque...
In [30], Kleijn presented a survey of the use of team automata for the specification and analysis of phenomena from the field of computer supported cooperative work, in particular notions related to groupware systems. In this paper we present a survey of the use of team automata for the specification and analysis of some issues from the field of security.
This article describes the first implementation of a new SAR, spatial augmented reality, equipped here with a IPM, interactive projection mapping. It presents and analyses it as a new configuration of CSCW, Computer-Supported Cooperative Work. It reveals its success (support encouraging the collective understanding of complex shapes) but also the precautions and limits of this system of graphic...
