This paper discusses the applications of Fuzzy Boolean Programming (FBP) problems for representing and reasoning with Propositional Knowledge. The use of the models provided by the FBP are proposed to answer imprecise questions in precisely stated KBS. Also, the advantages of using Fuzzy Boolean Programming instead of classical ones are presented in the framework of Propositional Knowledge.

This paper presents a prototype of case-based reasoning, built for the agricultural domain. Its aim is to forecast the allocation of a new energy crop, the miscanthus. Interviews were conducted with french farmers in order to know how they make their decisions. Based on interview analysis, a case base and a rule base have been formalized, together with similarity and adaptation knowledge. Furth...

background: cancer registries are important infrastructure for cancer control programs. however most developing countries lack population based cancer registry. in iran there cancer incidence is estimated based on pathology-based cancer registry. in this study we evaluated results of the nationwide pathology-based cancer registry in iran. materials and methods: we compared age-standardized inci...

In this paper, we give a survey on the AI-field Configuration. Because configuration of software-intensive systems is currently seen as a main challenge for knowledge-based configuration, this topic is emphasized. Main challenges related to this topic are next to others: softwareintensive applications, combining of configuration, modeling and evolution of software components, integration of kno...

How does someone react when he faces a critical situation in his life? In this paper we present an agent-based model for simulating people’s behaviors in those particular situations. Coping strategies are at the heart of our model and we use some strategies developed in the area of psychology. We show the first step of our implementation architecture. We are currently implementing our model by ...

How to deal with large tightness gaps in security proofs is a vexing issue in cryptography. Even when analyzing protocols that are of practical importance, leading researchers often fail to treat this question with the seriousness that it deserves. We discuss nontightness in connection with complexity leveraging, HMAC, lattice-based cryptography, identity-based encryption, and hybrid encryption.

This paper presents an integrated knowledge-based system, which combines fuzzy rule-based reasoning with case-based reasoning, for turbomachinery diagnosis. By incorporating a casebased reasoning sub-system in a fuzzy rule-based system, the integrated system allows past experience to be applied in a more direct way. This helps improve the diagnostic accuracy of the rulebased system. This approa...

We put forth a new mathematical framework called Isogenous Pairing Groups (IPG) and new intractable assumptions in the framework, the Isogenous DBDH (Isog-DBDH) assumption and its variants. Three operations, i.e., exponentiation, pairing and isogeny on elliptic curves are treated under a unified notion of trapdoor homomorphisms, and combinations of the operations have potential new cryptographi...

Two important computational approaches to problem solving are model-based reasoning (MBR) and case-based reasoning (CBR). MBR, since it reasons from first principles, is especially suited for solving novel problems. CBR, since it reasons from previous experience, is especially suited for solving frequently encountered problems. However, large novel problems pose difficulties for both approaches...
