The encoding of local features is an essential part for writer identification and writer retrieval. While CNN activations have already been used as local features in related works, the encoding of these features has attracted little attention so far. In this work, we compare the established VLAD encoding with triangulation embedding. We further investigate generalized max pooling as an alternat...
In Biometric recognition, commonly the information about the biometric to be analyzed is contained in digital images, in particular this work is focused on analyzing hand dorsal veins as biometric. A basic process during the recognition stage is the feature (minutiae) extraction; when images are captured from several people it is very difficult to obtain a global alignment and as consequence di...
Biometric recognition, or biometrics, refers to the authentication of an individual based on her or his biometric traits. Among the various biometric traits (e.g., face, iris, fingerprint, voice), fingerprint-based authentication has the longest history, and it has been successfully adopted in both forensic and civilian applications. Advances in fingerprint capture technology have resulted in n...
Fingerprint is most popular and common biometric trait used for authentication. The fingerprint is a physiological biometric characteristic to identify person. Fingerprint recognition is the problem of searching a fingerprint in the reference database to find a fingerprint that matches a given fingerprint. For enhancing the performance and accuracy of biometric fingerprint recognition system on...
We describe a new framework to bind cryptographic keys with biometric signatures using correlation filters. This scheme combines correlation filter based biometric recognition with biometric key-binding while offering template protection, revocability, diversity and security. We demonstrate the effectiveness of our scheme via numerical results on the CMU-PIE face database.
A biometric system provides automatic identification of an individual based on a unique feature or characteristic possessed by him/her. Iris recognition (IR) is known to be the most reliable and accurate biometric identification system. The iris recognition system (IRS) consists of an automatic segmentation mechanism which is based on the Hough transform (HT). This paper presents a robust IRS i...
This paper presents a 3-level RDWT biometric watermarking algorithm to embed the voice biometric MFC coefficients in a color face image of the same individual for increased robustness, security and accuracy. Phase congruency model is used to compute the embedding locations which preserves the facial features from being watermarked and ensures that the face recognition accuracy is not compromise...
Biometrics such as fingerprint, face, eye retina, and voice offers means of reliable personal authentication is now a widely used technology both in forensic and civilian domains. Reality, however, makes it difficult to design an accurate and fast biometric recognition due to large biometric database and complicated biometric measures. In particular, fast fingerprint indexing is one of the most...
Biometrics is one of the recent trends in security, which is mainly used for verification and recognition systems. By using biometrics we confirm a particular person’s claimed identity based on particular person’s physiological or behavioral characteristics such as fingerprint, face or voice etc. Most biometric systems deployed in real-world applications are unimodal, such as they use a single ...
