What do you do to start reading how to mend a broken heart? Searching the book that you love to read first or find an interesting book that will make you want to read? Everybody has difference with their reason of reading a book. Actuary, reading habit must be from earlier. Many people may be love to read, but not a book. It's not fault. Someone will be bored to open the thick book with small w...
This paper presents a physical model of a squirrel cage induction machine with rotor topology. The machine is modeled in Modelica, an object oriented multi physical modeling system. The presented machine model is used to investigate electrical rotor asymmetries in induction machines. For the case of a single broken rotor bar a simulation model is compared with measurement results.
Induction motors have become the most used electrical motors in the world. They are rugged, easy to maintain, low in cost and good in performance. Those benefits have made induction motors very popular among users. During their exploitation period induction motors are exposed to various stresses that can become fatal to their performance and bring with them huge economic losses and safety risks...
Gearboxes sustain a variety of faults such as broken-shafts, eroded, broken, or missing teeth, and even broken-cases. Casing mounted accelerometers can detect fault patterns but the signals are complicated and difficult to interpret. This study considers the tooth loading of ideal gears and gears with defects. A large industrial gearbox used in a 12m electric mining shovel is modeled. The nonli...
The paper analyses how the characteristics of medium-voltage network with insulated neutral and conditions under which single line-to-ground fault occurs (insulation condition value resistance) influence zero-sequence components voltage transformer station bus bar, current, currents faulted line other non-faulted power lines connected to bars. Assuming waveform medium voltages in is known, resi...
Differential Fault Intensity Analysis (DFIA) is a recently introduced fault analysis technique. This technique is based on the observation that faults are biased and thus are non-uniformly distributed over the cipher state variables. The adversary uses the fault bias as a source of leakage by controlling the intensity of fault injection. DFIA exploits statistical analysis to correlate the secre...
In the motor current signal, characteristic frequency of broken rotor bar (BRB) fault is modulated by supply and it decreases with decrease load, resulting to be easily buried under light load conditions. Teager-Kaiser energy operator (TKEO) has shown better performance detect BRB faults than classical methods, such as envelope analysis spectral analysis. However, original definition TKEO leads...
BACKGROUND By measuring alcohol retailers' propensity to illegally sell alcohol to young people who appear highly intoxicated, we examine whether UK legislation is effective at preventing health harms resulting from drunk individuals continuing to access alcohol. METHODS 73 randomly selected pubs, bars and nightclubs in a city in North West England were subjected to an alcohol purchase test b...
