COVID-19の発生により，我々は生活様式の見直しを迫られている．今回，NHKと共同でビュッフェ形式のレストランにおいて模擬実験を行い，感染リスクの可視化と分析を行った．高頻度接触面を介する間接的な接触により汚染の拡大がみられた．一方，手指衛生などの基本的な感染対策を適切に実施することにより汚染の拡大を最小限にすることができた．市中で感染拡大を阻止するためには，院内感染対策の知識と技術を応用して市中感染を防止するための対策を構築するなど，社会と医療機関との連携が必要不可欠といえる．今回，映像化と広報に長けたメディアと感染症専門家が協同して伝播動態を可視化できたことにより，啓発のために貴重な知見が得られた．
