The promoted K-La nanocatalysts supported on ZSM-5 zeolite were prepared via wetness impregnation method and tested for biodiesel production from soybean oil. The effects of different weight percentage of La, loading of K as a promoter and calcination conditions on structure and activity of catalyst were investigated. Results showed that the supported catalyst containing 7wt.% of La was pro...
The paper shows that there is no finite set of forbidden minors which characterizes classes of independence models that are representable by Gaussian, discrete and binary distributions, respectively. In addition, a way to prove the nonexistence of a finite characterization for any other class of independence models is suggested. MSC 2000: 60A99, 68T30, 94A15

1. Materials synthesis and characterization Catalyst synthesis: Commercially available TiO 2 , with the particle size ranging from 50 to 150 nm and in the B.E.T. surface area from 50 to 100 m 2 /g, was first treated in 0.5 M HCl solution for 24 hours to remove impurities. In a typical approach to the synthesis of the PANI-Fe-TiO 2 catalyst, 2.0 mL aniline was first dispersed in 0.5 M HCl soluti...
Better understanding of true electrochemical reaction behaviors in electrochemical energy devices has long been desired. It has been assumed so far that the reactions occur across the entire catalyst layer (CL), which is designed and fabricated uniformly with catalysts, conductors of protons and electrons, and pathways for reactants and products. By introducing a state-of-the-art characterizati...
We report the microwave synthesis and characterization of Au and Pd nanoparticle catalysts supported on CeO2, CuO, and ZnO nanoparticles for CO oxidation. The results indicate that supported Au/CeO2 catalysts exhibit excellent activity for low-temperature CO oxidation. The Pd/CeO2 catalyst shows a uniform dispersion of Pd nanoparticles with a narrow size distribution within the ceria support. A...
Hybrid systems in which molecule-based active species are combined with nanoscale materials may offer valuable routes to enhance catalytic performances for electrocatalytic reactions. The development of rationally designed, cost-effective, efficient catalysts for the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) is a crucial challenge for applications in fuel cells and metal-air batteries. A new hybrid ORR c...
The results of decades of studies on the Phillips chromium (Cr)/silica polymerization catalyst are briefly summarized. The application of several characterization methods has allowed a detailed knowledge of the structure and reactivity of Cr centres to be obtained. In particular, many aspects of this apparently simple single-site catalyst, including the heterogeneity, the modification of the li...
The first photosensitization of a rhodium-based catalytic system for CO2 reduction is reported, with formate as the sole carbon-containing product. Formate has wide industrial applications and is seen as valuable within fuel cell technologies as well as an interesting H2 -storage compound. Heterogenization of molecular rhodium catalysts is accomplished via the synthesis, post-synthetic linker e...
Under the green chemistry perspective, bis[(l)prolinate-N,O]Zn (also called zinc-proline or Zn[(l)-pro]2) has proven its competence as a promising alternative in a plethora of applications such as catalyst or promoter. Owing to its biodegradable and non-toxic nature of bis[(l)prolinate-N,O]Zn, it is being actively investigated as a water soluble green catalyst for synthetic chemistry. Bis[(l)pr...
