This report addresses the question of how geographic and environmental information created and maintained by different organisations in Europe can be embedded in Spatial Data Infrastructures (SDIs) and reused in various applications by different people. The main challenge related to this task is to deal with the heterogeneity of data managed by others. The core concept of SDIs is interoperabili...

The International Standards Organization (ISO) will release in 1993 the rst version of the STEP standard, which is dedicated to the exchange of product model data, and is seen as the basis of the next generation of enterprise information modeling tools. Almost in the same time frame ANSI will release the Information Resource Dictionary System (IRDS) Conceptual Schema standard [1], which recomme...

The paper is concerned with conceptual modeling of the new aircraft based on bionical forms. Search visual-graphic calculations of the model under development are presented. 3D modeling of aircraft constructional parts were carried out according to the detailed designs. For 3D surfaces modeling the Koons method is used. Rendering scenes of shaded 3D model of aircraft is presented.

In order to promote Conceptual-Model Programming (CMP), we set forth these CMP Articles. We hold these articles to be the defining principles for model-complete software development. In essence, this CMP manifesto asserts that programming activities are to be carried out via conceptual modeling. For applications amenable to conceptual-model designs, software developers should never need to writ...

Although Entity-Relationship (ER) modelling techniques are commonly used for information modelling, Object-Role Modelling (ORM) techniques are becoming increasingly popular, partly because they include detailed design procedures providing guidelines for the modeller. As with the ER approach, a number of different ORM techniques exist. In this paper, we propose an integration of two theoreticall...

A new initiative from the International Swaps and Derivatives Association (ISDA) aims to establish a “Common Domain Model” (ISDA CDM): a new standard for data and process representation across the full range of derivatives instruments. Design of the ISDA CDM is at an early stage and the draft definition contains considerable complexity. This paper contributes by offering insight, analysis and d...

This paper gives a theoretical framework for clustering a set of conceptual graphs characterized by sparse descriptions. The formed clusters are named in an intelligible manner through the concept of stereotype, based on the notion of default generalization. The cognitive model we propose relies on sets of stereotypes and makes it possible to save data in a structured memory.
